Perfect stay, perfect location, beautiful cottage.

A group of 2 families with 3 children (between ages 1 - 3) stayed at this cottage over a weekend. From our first view of the cottage when we pulled into the drive it was beautiful and very well maintained. The inside was even more perfect, rooms were beautiful and tastefully decorated, kitchen was very well equipped - we couldnt fault it. Beds were comfortable and great sizes. This cottage was perfect as when the kids were in bed the adults could make use of the games room.
The welcome pack of coffee and chocolates was a nice touch.
The cottage is perfectly located with a convenience store a short walk away and a pub (food is lovely!). We drove to Bourton on the Water which took about 20/25 minutes so a great location if you want to explore the Cotswolds. I would definitely stay here again.

Great Location for a Weekend Stay

Spacious house in a great location. Nice welcome Pack. Our stay could have been 5* but the house needs a thorough clean. By that i mean the skirting boards, kitchen drawers, under the beds. Ensuite toilet was left dirty for us. The garden especially the back garden needs a total tidy up. Area by the bins is disgusting. The owners need to give this house more attention!!
Pearl Olding
Property was so spacious, very clean and really well equipped with everything you need.

This was the perfect cottage with enough room for our family of 5. We loved the layout of the large living room & big dining table plus had everything we needed in the kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed taking walks along the public footpath behind the house & the short walks in town to fantastic pubs & a great market. The view of the sheep from the upstairs bedroom windows was the cherry on top.

Perfect cottage for family gathering and exploring The Cotswolds

Lots of space for communal activities. Enough bedrooms for privacy. Well equipped (needs a new toaster and a full length mirror). We made good use of the games room for darts and pool. We couldn't find the microwave (may have been part of the oven). Rear garden had comfortable furniture with seating for about 10 and it's a sun trap on the afternoon. There is a barbeque with gas provided (we didn't use it). Parking for 3 cars as described (we found it better to reverse in). There are 3 pubs, a village shop and a butchers in the village. Ideally situated for walkers, the Cotswold Way is about 50m away. Lots of picturesque villages not too far away, and a number of gardens to visit. Stratford upon Avon a short drive away. Recommended.

We stayed at Woodside Cottage to celebrate my wife's birthday. 5 adults and an 8 year old. Difficult to fault this cottage. It was spotless, spacious and conveniently situated to explore The Cotswolds on foot or by car. Well equipped and a nice welcome pack from the owner who was most attentive. We enjoyed playing darts and pool in the evenings when we ate in, and the garden was a sun trap in the afternoon. There are 2 pubs and a hotel serving food, all good, and a well stocked Morrisons local and an award winning butchers all within walking distance. The Cotswold Way is about 50 metres away so there is unlimited walking on the doorstep. There are lots of scenic villages a short distance away. There are a number of gardens to visit, and historic Stratford upon Avon is a short drive away. All in all, thoroughly recommended.

Location was ideal. Very nice house with everything you could need.

Delightful Cottage in Great Location

Woodside Cottage is a gorgeous place to stay and right in the centre of a small village with two great pubs and a Morrisons local shop within walking distance. The house is very comfortable, stylish and has everything you need for self catering if desired. We really enjoyed playing pool and darts in the converted games room and sitting round the real fire in the evenings. There are also lots of long country walks possible from right outside your front door. We ate twice at the Kings Arms which was best for food and watched some rugby and football games at the Butchers Arms which was a fabulous locals pub. They also sell good basic food which was okay but nothing special. The only downside to Woodside Cottage in our view was the sofa bed in the box room which was very uncomfortable for adults. Therefore larger groups of adults might struggle.
Otherwise everything was perfect and Anna the owner was a wonderful host and so kind.

Weekend Stay

Woodside Cottage was perfect for our family to stay and attend a wedding close by. Well equipped kitchen and very comfortable for a 4 generation family 1 yr to early 70s. Very homely feel and location was perfect we hope we get the opportunity to return and explore the area in the future. Lovely welcome pack on arrival thank you.

A very comfortable property where we relaxed when not out and about.

The property was very pleasant and comfortable, excellent facilities in particular the showers. No issues while we were there.

A short family stay in the Cotswolds

It was all we could have hoped for especially the child provisions. The beds were very comfortable. It was nice to have some bread etc and a bottle of wine. Plenty of parking space for our 3 cars. All in all just what we needed for our short stay.

Overgrown Garden

Lovely house, lots of amenities within the house.
No doors downstairs, which I feel is a fire risk especially with an open fire. Also states no dogs allowed upstairs, difficult without a door to any of the downstairs rooms.
Garden very overgrown, patio area dirty, found cigarette butt's under one of the garden chairs.
This is the 3rd property we have stayed at via Bolthole retreats and I found this property disappointing.
Also, the contact number for the owner is incorrect in all of the bolthole retreat paperwork. The correct number is in the white plastic folder with all of the instructions for the house/appliances.

Amazing stay in an amazing property!!!

Following the recent passing of my husband and my childrens dad we enjoyed a much needed break and we chose the perfect place, Woodside Cottage. It was perfect for us all plus our dog. Every need inside and outside the cottage was catered for including parking and a really lovely social space outside. My children loved playing pool and darts. The kitchen is stunning and all the rooms were amazing. The gift basket on arrival is a really lovely touch as is the bread and milk provided. The location in Mickleton meant we could eat out locally and was near to other places to visit. The whole process booking through Bolthole Retreats has been a pleasurable experience. I had previously booked with another company and was let down. This company is reliable and professional with some amazing places to stay on offer. I am now looking for my next place to stay.

Ideal retreat for visiting the beautiful Cotswolds and Stratford upon Avon

Well laid out roomy accommodation with all the necessary appliances/equipment to make your stay comfortable. Situated in a lovely village within easy reach (circa 30 minutes) of many attractions.
Garden quite small and website gives the impression of a much bigger space with views over the surrounding countryside. The views are there but only from the upstairs bedrooms.
Local pubs very welcoming, food in Kings Arms particularly good. Local butchers sausages a must try.
All in all a lovely stay, thank you.

A great cottage to meet up with friends

We stayed at the Woodside cottage for a Friday to Sunday break. It was a chance for a group of old friends to get together. As we were travelling from around the UK the location of the Cottage in the Cotswolds was perfect.
The instructions for arrival were brilliant and the cleanliness of the cottage was perfect.
Some great little touches such as a loaf of bread and butter in the kitchen were great.
Little shop over the road and a few ace pubs all within walking distance made for a really enjoyable weekend.

Family Birthday weekend

We had a lovely weekend at the cottage and Anna was very accommodating with my request to arrive at the cottage earlier than normal. It was also very nice to receive a welcome hamper when we arrived.
We were disappointed with some issues i.e. the cleanliness of a kitchen cupboard, the dustbins outside were full so we had to leave our rubbish on the top of them. There were several broken floor tiles in the ensuite. There were also several dead flies on the window sills.
The feedback of the above does not reflect the lovely time we had at the property as a family.
Gina Nolan
Beautiful Cotswold Home

Myself and a group of friends stayed here for the weekend recently. The house was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The Kitchen is a fabulous place for drinking and chatting and we all got involved with the darts and pool after a few gins. It was nice to share breakfast together in the large dining room and although the weather was bad there is a nice garden and patio furniture available.Parking on the drive for 3 cars was no problem and the location is a few minutes walk from several pubs and shops. A great base for exploring and we would definitely return. Many Thanks

Excellent accommodation

Spacious cottage pleasantly furnished. Welcome hamper. Well stocked kitchen.
Helpful owners let us arrive a bit early.
Maybe bathrooms could do with a refresh.

Visit to family

5 of us stayed for 3 nights. We were visiting for a family wedding. House was lovely and had everything we needed.

New year short break

We were a family of 8 adults of which two were on holiday from Australia, a 15 month old grandson & an elderly dog,
Kitchen was well equipped with almost everything you would need.
Games room was fun & used by nearly all also came in handy to put our elderly dog in overnight.
Lovely open plan lounge/dining area, large spacious hall, bedrooms very all tastefully decorated & furnished. Great little butchers within walking distance which we used, also two friendly pubs.
House is in a good location & within easy reach Broadway, Chipping Camden Stow on the wold. Would not hesitate to return.

Lovely Xmas break

Great house with parking for 4 cars in a lovely friendly village. The Kings Arms is a 10 min walk and does lovely food, with a great welcome from both locals and the staff. My only issue with the house is it needs a good clean. By that I mean skirting boards, corners and under furniture, especially the sofas. There was also a couple of dirty items of cutlery in the drawer that I had to clean before using. I used to help my friend prepare her holiday home for guests at changeover and know what to check and where dirt gathers..Would definitely go back though.

Superb holiday rental

This property excelled our expectations. Spacious, family friendly, modern and well equipped kitchen and a very thoughtful welcome pack. Walking distance to small shops and pubs. Highly recommended.

Peaceful Retreat

We booked to spend time with friends and relatives, it was absolutely perfect. Well appointed for the area and so comfortable and well equipped. Excellent value for money.

Great Long Weekend Stay

We stayed at Woodside Cottage for a long weekend and really enjoyed the stay. The cottage is large and well equipped and in a great location. The village has a couple of nice pubs just a short walk away and a Morrison Daily and a good butchers. The cottage is about 70 yards away from the foot path to link into walks to the beautiful Chipping Campden and Hidcote Gardens. Theres plenty more we didnt get time to see and will look to stay again in future.

Great accommodation

Had a great stay at Woodside Cottage. We were 5 adults, 2 children and a dog and there was more than enough space. The kitchen had everything you needed to be able to cook at home. Welcome hamper much appreciated. Hosts very accommodating as well. All really enjoyed our time in the cottage and would definitely recommend and return!

Woodside Review

Great stay at Woodside. Loved the games room and all the facilities and fabulous welcome pack on arrival. Thanks very much!

perfect for a cosy weekend in The Cotswold's

We stayed at this house for a weekend as a group of 8 and 1 dog. Honestly it was perfect, we especially loved the large kitchen which allowed us to cook comfortably as a group, and the beautiful lounge with fireplace where we could play games and sit by the fire. Comfort wise 3 of the rooms are a generous size, and the snug room is cozy but comfortable. There are some lovely walks that can be done from the property, or the entire Cotswold's are on your doorstep. The local pubs are charming and the food was good. If it had been nice weather we would have loved to sit in the garden and have a bbq.
We hope to return in the future for another weekend, thank you for having us!

Lovely house with excellent facilitiest

Enjoyable weekend in Mickleton. Good walking from the front door.
Woodside Cottage was ideal for 6, plenty to do when inside, excellent kitchen space and facilities. Ample outside seating which catches the late afternoon and early evening sun. Games Room with a beer fridge was the icing on the cake!

Perfect location. Beautiful cottage.

Great location, beautiful cottage and fantastic surroundings. The cottage was super clean. On arrival a nice food basket was put together which was such a lovely surprise, along with an Easter treat for my children. The place was spacious and the games room was a big hit. I would certainly return back here again. Thanks for making this an amazing holiday.
