One of the best of Bolthole holiday accommodation we have stayed at.

Had a fantastic stay at the timber lodge. The lodge was immaculately clean and had everything and more we needed. The furniture and fittings were all top quality and had a luxurious feel. It was well placed to visit both the Cotswold pretty villages and park and ride was fairly close for a trip into Oxford. Blenheim Palace is less than 5 miles away and is an absolute must for a visit. We also enjoyed the Oxford Castle and prison visit. The local pub is run by village volunteers and the Sunday roast was fantastic. The owner was welcoming and helpful but also respectful of your privacy. We would definitely pick this property again when visiting the area. Also the bed was so comfortable I immediately bought the same mattress topper to arrive when I got home.

This is definitely a good one

This property is well equipped, it's peaceful, it's comfortable, Lisa, the owner is very friendly and helpful, it's very well located, it's fresh and, and, and...
You have a bus that leaves every hour to and from Oxford (a 40 minute ride) or if you prefer the train, there's a station within a 10 minute walk and this takes only 9 minutes to the centre of Oxford, although these are every 2 hours and you need to buy your ticket online.
The Cotswolds are a short drive away and there are many interesting places even closer.
Country walks are outside the door.
I could go on but let's just say this was perfect for us.

Excellent accommodation

Everything you could need for a very pleasant few days away. Convenient for frequent bus service (the stop is literally yards away) and trains. Possibly the biggest bed we have ever seen! Lisa was extremely pleasant and accommodating and full of local knowledge.

Very pleasant stay

We had a very enjoyable stay with owner close by to answer any questions. Very comfortable accommodation and handy for Oxford, Blenheim and other tourist attractions, especially if you have a car. We would certainly stay there again if we were in the area.

Fabulous

We had a lovely stay at the lodge. A fantastic big bed and lovely spacious rooms with plenty of room for a little one to crawl around. The host Lisa couldnt do enough for us and was absolutely brilliant and providing recommendations on where to visit locally. This is one of the premier 1 bedroom properties we have stayed in and we look forward to staying again.

Weekend stay for a birthday and Mothers Day

A few years ago my son and his mother came to stay from Norway for Christmas as my mum and sister live in the village but dont have enough room for two extra visitors. They stayed in the adjacent property, Buffs Lodge, which was ideal as it has two bedrooms. This time my son and his girlfriend came for my mums 92nd birthday on the Saturday and Mothers Day on the Sunday. I was disappointed to find that Buffs Lodge was already booked and only Timber Lodge was available, but as it turned out it was just as good or maybe better for a couple as the one-bedroom property is absolutely perfect for a couple, my son asked me to write a great review as it was such a great weekend for them. The owner always leaves milk and essentials and lives next door and is very approachable if needed but is never intrusive. Both properties are like a home from home and I dont want to recommend them too highly in case they get booked up next time I want to stay there, but in reality I cant recommend them highly enough! Wonderful place to stay!
