It is guaranteed to provide a comfortable night’s sleep. Hidden beneath the bed is drawer storage and a chaise longue adds space to read in the evening.

Outside

The BBQ terrace just outside the boot room is the perfect spot to soak in the sun, just grilled burger in hand. This area has shared access with the neighbours to allow them to get to their gardens. There is a dining table for four and after eating you can wander along the hidden path to The Roost’s secret garden. Passing the neighbouring traditional Cotswold country gardens, you reach the gated private garden through a foliage archway. This oasis includes a lawned area, table and chairs to dine al fresco and a fabulous fire pit area where you can roast marshmallows looking out across the farmland views. A lovely place to stay

Verified Up Front Reviews
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Roost, which is a beautiful cottage well located in the village of Colne St Aldwyns. The property was well furnished and clean and comfortable. It could be improved by providing fans, as the bedrooms were very hot at night and only heaters were available. We also had been offered the opportunity to request a high chair and cot, which we'd done, but these weren't provided and no notice was given, which was unfortunate.

No logs supplied and not told where to get them which was essential as the owners had control of the heating and kept turning it off. Unacceptable in winter when paying a good rent. Garden a mess. Second bedroom needs a new bed as you have to climb into it from the bottom . Only fit for children .

Merilyn Belper

Such a wonderful little place in a peaceful village. It rained one whole day we were here but it was perfect. We were with a 3 year old and it was safe and fine for her also. Thanks to the hosts!

Will

A beautiful cottage in a lovely village

Verified Up Front Reviews
The Roost is a beautifully decorated cottage situated in a fantastic village. The cottage has everything we needed for a very comfortable stay, plus there is a great pub just down the road, a lovely little shop and cafe just up the hill and a wonderful playground to entertain the children. Highly recommend!

Great Location for the pub!

Verified Up Front Reviews
Great location with lovely walks & The New Inn is a great pub.The Roost is a beautiful cottage with a good layout. We were surprised there was no welcome hamper although milk, coffee & tea was provided. The sitting room seating was not great for 4 adults & the 9 tog duvet was far too hot for summer weather. We couldn’t find any other bedding, maybe a sheet and blanket would be better. We would stay again, we love Coln and the location is great. I thought it would be helpful to highlight our observations for feedback.

Perfect cottage in a perfect location

Verified Up Front Reviews
We stayed at The Roost over the Easter weekend and booked only 3-4 weeks in advance. The booking process was seamless and fully automated and the information provided was excellent. The house was warm and welcoming and the property team/owner had thought of every little thing to get out stay under way, including a welcome pack with milk, tea and coffee and logs for the fire. The property was spotless and provided everything we needed and more and so many beautiful little touches/details/decor. A well cared for home. The village of Coln was a perfect base, we are a family of 4 with 6 year olds, the local pub is just next door and all major amenities are just a short drive. We look forward to visiting again and for longer. Thanks Michelle and the property team.
