Amidst the lively charm of historic Marlborough, The Old Barn offers the perfect setting for family and friends to gather. Light-filled, spacious rooms retain original features with exposed beams, a rustic bread oven, and a quirky old well in the snug. Spend your days enjoying meals together in the dining room or chatting in one of the two sitting rooms. In the games room you can hold competitive table football matches or dine al fresco in the garden. Just steps away, Marlborough’s bustling High Street awaits with its timber-framed buildings, stylish eateries, inviting pubs, cocktail bars, and a wonderful mix of high street brands and independent boutiques. For those keen on exploring, scenic walking trails wind through the Wiltshire countryside, leading you to historic sites like the ancient Savernake Forest and the iconic Avebury stone circles.

Overview

From the historic red brick façade, The Old Barn Marlborough stretches before you with spacious open plan living areas, generous bedrooms and modern bathrooms. Combining aspects of its 250-year heritage, original sash windows flood the house with light while woodburning stoves provide warmth and a cosy atmosphere.

Rustle up a feast in the expansive kitchen/diner, the hub of the house where you can set the table for ten and host a celebratory meal. At the end of the day the traditional snug in the oldest part of the house is made for slowly sipping after dinner drinks while the fire crackles. Keeping younger guests entertained is a breeze here with table football and a living room waiting for your favourite film or a games tournament on the Wii console. Four modern bathrooms and five generous bedrooms are set across the first floor with the master bedroom sitting at the back of the house beneath an exposed A-frame of beams adorned with sparkling fairy lights, a lovely escape at the end of the day.

Tucked away, the rear garden is a secluded spot. Sitting alongside the black and white exterior you can dine al fresco or make the most of sunny days bringing your book outside to recline beneath the trees. With the delights of Marlborough on your doorstep there is so much to see and do. Take a walk to see the white horse on the hill just outside the town, head to Stonehenge to learn more about this magical ancient site or discover the North Wessex Downs AONB which surrounds Marlborough.

Just returned from this fabulous property. The location couldn’t be better…literally minutes from the centre of Marlborough with all its shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. This house was perfect for our girls weekend. Loads of space and loads of bathrooms! The communication was also great and we were recommended where to park safely and for free for the whole weekend (literally round the corner!) FYI parking is always a problem in Marlborough. This house is perfectly suited for large group gatherings…really comfortable and we all loved it!

We spent Christmas in the barn, the owners had thoughtfully put up decorations for us. It was well equipped and the owners were on hand to answer any questions. The location was perfect.
