Overview
Located on a tiny lane, a short distance from the village of Claverdon and surrounded by pretty countryside, The Loft at Kington Grange is a peaceful spot for a rural escape.
Featuring a delightfully luxurious bedroom and a huge en-suite shower room. The real wow factor to the Loft is the magnificent, vaulted living space. Original beams and exposed brickwork sit against a stone floor and huge, floor-to-ceiling windows, with double doors open to the courtyard. To one end there’s a wood burner, where you can spend cosy evenings, and to the other there is a well-equipped kitchen. The Loft also features a ground-floor cloakroom and a galleried mezzanine, with two further beds.
There is a bistro table and chairs in a courtyard area opposite The Loft, where you can enjoy a morning coffee in the sunshine or evening drinks, and the owners will allow shared access to certain parts of the gardens and use of their tennis court by arrangement. There is parking for two vehicles on the private drive.
The Loft is part of Kington Grange, which also includes The Barn at Kington Grange, a stylish barn conversion which sleeps six guests and the main house at Kington Grange which sleeps 15. The Loft can be booked in conjunction with both properties to create space for up to 25 guests.
Ground Floor
Entrance Hall:
The front door opens into an entrance hall with stone floors, stairs to the first floor and a handy ground-floor cloakroom. There’s a multi-drawer chest, perfect for placing keys, hats, and gloves, so nothing gets lost.
Cloakroom:
Deep blue walls and grey wall tiles come together to create a very stylish look. There’s a WC and hand basin, an unusual bird toilet roll holder and a large mirror.
Kitchen:
Forming the first part of the main barn, the kitchen is compact and well-equipped with everything you may need including a large fridge-freezer and a dishwasher. The deep blue units topped by dark granite work surfaces are modern and stylish and the high countertop is topped by pendant lights, on one side there are plenty of shelves for storage. The reverse side creates a breakfast bar with four wooden stools.
Dining/Living Space:
This impressive space has a double-height, vaulted ceiling supported by the original barn beams, huge windows line both sides of the room, and double doors leading out to the courtyard. There are track lights and lamps, so plenty of options to create your own atmosphere. There’s also a pool table, table football and other large wooden games. A huge dining table can be laid for elegant meals, before retiring to the far end of the room, which is dominated by a contemporary wood burner. Relax in front of the flames on the two large, cushioned, circular sofas or kick back on the teal, velvet easy chair and footstool. A royal blue chest is topped with decorative pieces and a large mirror, which reflects light back into the room. It’s a peaceful space for conversation, listening to music or curling up with a good book. Please note there is no TV in the Loft at Kington Barn.
First Floor
Wooden stairs lead to the first floor.
Landing:
Featuring curios collected by the owners, the landing is a light and airy space with glass balustrades looking down to the floor below. The landing leads to the mezzanine level and into the bedroom.
Bedroom:
Swathed in opulent satin drapes, held back with thick rope cords, this wonderful bedroom has more than a touch of glamour about it. Roof lights are shaded by upholstered blackout shutters, whilst the upholstered bed is set against a statement wall, and bedside tables with reading lamps are placed on either side.
Ensuite:
Through a doorway, again dramatically framed by heavy satin drapes, there is a huge ensuite/wet room with double-access shower. A roof light gives plenty of natural daylight and there is a WC and a handbasin.
Mezzanine:
The mezzanine level features quirky, music-inspired wallpaper and offers further space for two guests with a single bed and a pull-up trundle, which can be configured as a super-king if needed.
Outside
Whilst there is no dedicated outside space, there is a bistro table and chairs by the entrance to the Loft where you can enjoy a morning coffee in the sunshine or evening drinks, and the owners will allow shared access to certain parts of the gardens and use of their tennis court by arrangement. There is parking for two vehicles on the private drive.

An amazing venue

We booked The Loft in conjunction with Kington Grange itself. This was an amazing space to use for communal activities and meals. It was really comfortable, bright and had some lovely features.

Shutting out the world

We needed a well earned rest and to shut out the rest of the world. The Loft was idyllic, its peaceful, romantic, spacious. We really could not have asked for more, but we got it! Our hosts Sue and Phil were wonderful.
Thank you both. We shall certainly be back.
