Overview
Constructed from traditional honey-coloured Cotswold stone dating back around 150 years, we believe the cottage originally started life as a barn. The owners have injected new life and incorporated contemporary features, including a large log burner, eye-catching oak, and nickel stair banisters, and cleverly designed under-eave bedroom wardrobes.
Step through the front door into the bright and airy hallway – a great place to hang coats, take off walking boots, and relax after a day exploring the Cotswolds in this wonderfully welcoming, luxury holiday rental.
So much thought has been put into Teagles Cottage with nothing forgotten, making it a delightful Cotswold holiday home-from-home. From the thoughtful toiletries and chest of family games to the fully equipped kitchen and fantastic log burner it’s not surprising that guests return year after year.

The Location
An elegant and quintessential market town, Stow-on-the-Wold sits at the highest point in the Cotswolds. One of the best known of the small historic market towns, Stow has a fine selection of chic bistros, charming tea rooms and stylish boutiques and galleries; all within walking distance of the cottage. Stow is also the perfect starting point for walks across the beautiful Cotswold countryside.
The large market square surrounded by mellow stone buildings testifies to Stow's historic importance as a centre of the sheep and wool trade. At one end stands the ancient stone cross and at the other are the old town stocks. Its position as the highest point in the Cotswolds may be a reason why Stow was the site of the last battle of the English Civil War in 1646. A stone's throw from Teagles is The Porch House Hotel, reputed to be the oldest inn in England, dating back to 947 AD. The bar and restaurant are open to non-residents.
If you're here to do some walking through the beautiful Cotswold countryside, towns and villages, there are some guide books available for your use at the cottage or you can visit Cotswolds AONB.org.uk where you can download walks for free.
Teagles Cottage is ideally located for exploring other Cotswold favourite towns and villages. Daylesford Organic Farm, Bourton on the Water and Chipping Campden are less than 15 minutes drive and pretty Burford is just 10 miles away.

Beautiful cottage. It had everything you could possibly want, was spotlessly clean and it was warm and cosy. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of Stow-on-the-Wold. Helpful and friendly host. A perfect stay.
Deborah
This was a fab house to stay in for a long weekend for 5 friends. The house was superbly kitted out and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. The house is very conveniently located for all the shops and restaurants in Stow and we also managed a walk from Stow on the Wold to Bourton on the Water, across the fields. We particularly enjoyed our meal at The Old Butchers. Lindsay, our host, was very friendly, responsive and knowledgeable about the area. We would definitely visit again.
Helen
Fantastic house! Great host! We really appreciated the goodies left for us and the warm welcome we received! I would recommend staying at this wonderful home!

The attention to detail and all the little extras were great. It felt like a home from home. The owner was always very responsive and very accommodating. Highly recommend and would love to go back one day!

We had a fantastic stay at Teagles Cottage. The host clearly knows what makes a great holiday rental. The cottage has absolutely everything we needed, was very clean and well thought out. Perfect location, right in the middle of town. The living room area was a good size, we were a group of 7 friends and we could all sit together comfortably. Comfy beds, pillows and soft towels. Would definitely recommend for a stay in the Cotswolds.
Kirsty

We had a wonderful time at Teagles cottage. The house was absolutely beautiful and exactly as described, with a fantastic location that was perfect for exploring. The property is very well equipped and has everything you need if you wanted to eat in. We ate out as so many options for food just a few steps away but did appreciate the lovely welcome pack. Oh and the beds are super comfy!
The host Lyndsey was very helpful and gave us a couple of great recommendations.

Terrific place. There were 5 adults and we had plenty of room. Good sized kitchen which we used a lot as had some cooked meals at home. The washing machine and dryer were handy. Location is outstanding being a street back from Sheep Street .Car parking on site is a bonus. Great pubs and restaurants very close, Stow is a good town to base your Cotswolds visit as it’s a easy pivot in any direction. Highly recommend from us.

We had a fabulous 2 night stay at the cottage! The location was perfect for nipping in and out of the shops and pubs. The owner was really helpful and flexible, we would 100% recommend a stay and would come again!

Our summary

Location was ideal for us six as everything was within walking distance within Stow. We were in two vehicles so needed to park one elsewhere, not a problem though. We unloaded, left one vehicle in the allocated parking space, took the other one along Well Lane and parked at maximum a steady five minute walk away. When we needed to drive, we did so in the knowledge that we could come back and park easily. The cottage layout is worth a mention, not huge downstairs but we were all comfortable whether round the table or in the comfortable lounge seating, and there was outside seating too, even if some of the outside chairs were a little rickety. Altogether a very satisfying stay

Perfection in Stow!

Teagles Cottage was absolutely perfect for my family of 6! The layout of the bedrooms and bathrooms is perfect and you are steps from the adorable village of Stow-on-the-Wold. It offered us the best of both worlds being able to walk to everything you can need in Stow as well as a wonderful home base for exploring (either walking or driving) to some of the other nearby Cotswolds towns. We especially appreciated all of the fans and other thoughtful touches that they included to make us as comfortable as possible. The communication was perfect and provided a wonderful experience.

Can I move in?

Perfection!!! Exceptionally clean, thoughtfully decorated. Couldnt have asked for a better location. We loved exploring the town - Otis and Belle was a 3 minute walk for a quick breakfast. We hiked 10 miles from Stow and it was just stunning.
Nicole Vigh
Simply perfect

Just the perfect location to enjoy a few days chilling with friends, great coffee shops, restaurants and walks on the door step, and handy to have a car parking space.

Lovely cottage in an ideal location for holiday in the Cotswolds.

Teagles Cottage was very clean and felt very welcoming, warm and homely for our party of seven. All our needs had been catered for. It was only a step away from the shops, restaurants etc of the town which was very convenient but at the same time it was very quiet. It was in an ideal location for exploring the area. We had a wonderful time in a beautiful cottage.

Outstanding property on great location

Stayed here on several occasions now and it never disappoints. The host is friendly and communicates promptly. Great location, very clean and has everything you need. Would definitely recommend.

Great location and good space

We had a nice vacation. Loved having the outdoor patio - it was so hot when we were there that we spent evenings outside instead of inside. The beds were comfortable and just what we needed. The linens were nice and fresh.
Because it didn't have A/C, we sweltered at night.......the fans didn't do much good because they were so small. In cooler weather, I bet the place is ideal.
The location was great - we were glad to have stayed in Stow and found walking paths, takeaway food, and places to eat.

Terrific Stay at Teagles

This cottage was everything we hoped for and more. It was ultra cosy but spacious and the attention to detail was phenomenal. The welcome basket was a lovely touch. The location could not have been more central and made a perfect home for our time in the Cotswolds. Highly recommend. Thank you!

The cottage is located right off the main street in Stow-in-Wold, making it easily walkable to all of the wonderful restaurants and shops in the village. We had a great stay and would recommend to others looking to stay in a central location in the Cotswolds.

Perfection in Stow

Four ladies were looking for a charming cottage to consider home while exploring the Cotswolds. Teagles Cottage was perfect for us. The location was great. We walked, ate, explored, and shopped through Stow. We drove to Oxford, Bourton-on-the-
Water, Broadway, and other Cotswold towns. In four nights we covered a lot of territory and also had time to relax and enjoy the cottage.
The cottage itself fit perfectly for our needs. All four of us loved this cottage. The amenities and decorations made it a home away from home. A lot of thought was put in to providing a great rental by the owners and it showed. I would highly recommend Teagles Cottage for a stay in the Cotswolds!

A long weekend with family.

As a family group of seven we had a lovely stay in Teagles Cottage over Easter weekend. The cottage was just as described and was wonderful in every way. The kitchen was very well stocked with plenty of crockery, glasses etc. We were provided with a lovely welcome pack. The owner was in touch before we arrived and was very helpful. I would definitely recommend Teagles Cottage to anyone looking to stay in the Cotswolds.

Cosy weekend at Teagles Cottage

This was our second girls weekend at Teagles Cottage. We loved it so much last year that we decided to go to back... it didn't disappoint.
It is both beautifully decorated and spacious, it has really lovely bedrooms and a cosy living space. It is super clean and well looked after.
The cottage is within easy reach of some great pubs, shops and cafes and Stow itself is a great place to visit.
We cannot recommend this cottage enough.
Anna Smedley
Lovely cottage

We stayed at Teagles for a 60th birthday celebration with family. The cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. It was very comfortable, well equipped and cosy. The location was perfect, although it is in a quiet location in the centre of Stow so very convenient for shops, restaurants and cafes, it is also great for driving out to see the beautiful countryside, hiking and visiting other Cotswolds towns and villages. A perfect family weekend.
Anita Huckle
Fantastic home and location

We had a lovely time staying at Teagles Cottage! Our son has autism and Lindsay was so very helpful in making everything seamless, which helped him settle quickly. You'll want for nothing as all the essentials and more are provided for. The location is central to Stow and parking really handy. We were a party of four adults and one child, loads of space for us all in such a homely cottage. Thank you again for an amazing time!

Family Get Together

We all enjoyed our week stay at Teagles cottage. The cottage location was a superb base to visit some of the attractions on our list.Only one small negative comment we had from our son and his fiancée that the back bedroom lacked black out curtains leaving the room very bright in early morning .
Michael Johnson
Comfortable, homey, great location and amazing host

Our stay at Teagles Cottage was the highlight of our trip the UK. The location of the cottage is central in Stow-on-the-Wold. We loved the ability to easily walk to different restaurants, pubs and coffee shops every day. We could easily take beautiful drives through the Cotswolds and visit towns and sites nearby.
We had another family with us, 2 infants, 1 4 year old and 4 adults in total and we were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to make home cooked meals, and all of the rooms were cozy and comfortable. Our 4 year old wanted to stay there forever.
The night before check out, our rental car broke down, and the host, Lindsay, was incredibly helpful in helping us find a solution to get to our next destination, and was flexible with our check out to make sure we weren't out on the street. We can't thank her enough. If you are thinking about staying in the Cotswolds, do not hesitate to rent this cottage. Cheers.

Beautiful Property - Home from Home

We enjoyed an amazing stay at Teagles Cottage in Stow-on the Wold at the weekend. With 4 bedrooms (2 x king, 1 x twin and a single), 2 bathrooms and separate toilet downstairs there was ample of room for 6 of us to sleep. The lounge area was spacious and the kitchen had every utensil you could wish for! The property was spotless throughout and created a home from home environment. Teagles Cottage is literally on the doorstep of the main village where enjoyed visiting a couple of the local pubs and enjoyed a lovely meal at the local Indian restaurant. We all highly recommend this property, you will not be disappointed ?

Fabulous stay in a gorgeous cottage with a very attentive host

Where to start.. What a great stay we had celebrating a special birthday together as a group of old friends. The cottage is so well set up for a group of 7 and we didn't feel squashed at all during our time there. The cottage was spotless, immaculately decorated and kitted out with everything we could need; great sized towels (often too small), ample amount of tableware including lots of glasses (v. important for us), incredibly comfy beds, good number of bathrooms and lovely welcome items provided.
Lindsay was absolutely fantastic, provided lots of information to us before arrival, allowed us to sleep in on our departure day as no one was checking in that day, helped us out in a time of need regarding finding a last minute taxi. She was also so kind to post something that we forgot after we left and we are so grateful. Cannot recommend this stay enough.
We loved the fire, collection of games, cosy feel and fabulous location
Would definitely want to come back and would only want one more chair/spot of the sofa so all 7 adults could sit comfortably in the living room.
Top tip to remember to tell taxis and/or food delivery services to go to the Porch House, otherwise they find the cottage very hard to locate. Also book tables at restaurants/pubs especially for a big group and pre-book taxis!

Short break with friends.

This is a very comfy house. So relaxing.
Warm and well equipped.
The beds were so comfortable.
Everywhere was spotless.
Was offered an early check in
which was great.
The host checked we were all ok.
Found this very reassuring.
Third time visiting and would highly recommend.

Feels like home

Loved the cottage decor and amenities and location. There wasnt any shampoo so need to bring your own. It felt like a homestay as we had most things we needed to be able to live and cook if we wanted to as well as a nice car park space which is hard to find around touristy places. As we had elderly accompanying us, just suggest some Bath handles/rails would help them to navigate the shower better. Also another railing on the stairs could help them climb the steps better. Overall we all enjoyed ourselves and had a lovely staycation.

Lovely, warm and comfortable cottage in central location.

We were all impressed by this lovely cottage. The location was excellent for the town, walks and to go out sightseeing.
Linsay was very attentive and there if we needed her, however everything was perfect.
The cottage was lovely and warm on arrival, and the welcome pack was thoughtful and generous.
I can not fault this cottage, I would recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in the Cotswolds.
Thank you so much, we had such a lovely time.

Short break in the Cotswolds

This was our second break in Teagles.
It has retained its high standards.
The location of the cottage is fabulous.
The cottage is warm and cosy. All aspects were great. Welcome pack was a nice touch.
Parking was a bit tight
but we did have a VW van.. and managed it. The option of long stay free parking at Tesco was an option we had available to us. But didnt need it.
We even used our OAP free bus passes to travel around by bus
regular buses and lots of places to visit.

A Great Place to Stay

This beautiful and well kept cottage is very convenient for the local pubs and restaurants in Stow and a great base to explore the Cotswolds.

Another great stay

This was our second stay at Teagles cottage. The main reason we came back was we knew it was super clean and was in a great location. Again it did not disappoint. If youre looking for a comfortable stay with great local restaurants this is the place. Loved the welcome wine and cake too. The cottage has everything you will need, its very well equipped

Great cottage, home away from home

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage, the location was perfect. The place had all the amenities required and was nice and clean. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 children and it was plenty big enough for a weeks stay.
Would stay here again next time we are in the area.

Wonderful Home from Home in Stow on The Wold

Weve just had the most amazing time in Stow and LOVED staying at Teagles Cottage for the second time. The house is so comfortable and genuinely feels like a proper home from home with everything you need to keep the whole family happy. Lindsay our host was so lovely and extremely helpful in every way. We will definitely be returning again soon.

Happiness!

A beautiful, comfortable, well-equipped and charming cottage with everything you need in the heart of Stow on the Wold. Fantastic!
Emma Judge
We stay here annually in March.

We have stayed in this house for the last seven years. It is located right in the middle of the town, walking distance to the many shops, pubs and restaurants, no driving involved. The house is exceptionally clean with all the mod cons and nice bedrooms.
It's quite spacious, with good WIFI reception and parking at the rear. We enjoy coming back each year, the town is beautiful and the house never disappoint's.
John Walsh
6 day break with friends

Very comfortable cottage. Lots of comfy seating.. which was great. Log burner available for use.
Welcome pack was a lovely gesture.
Two baths and three toilets.
Beds felt quite soft at first but were extremely comfy so no issues with bad back!!
All mod cons as advertised.
The owner was very caring and friendly. She checked we were ok and recommended places to visit.
Parking is a little tight for a larger car.
Train stations near by. Once you are in Stow you could easily not want to move.
This next comment is not a big criticism but before the Summer season perhaps some dusting of skirting boards and down the sides of the single beds would make it perfect. BUT thats so minor really to mention as everything else was truly appreciated.
Rachel Mary Gale
Fabulous stay in a cosy cottage, ideal to enjoy Stow and visit the beautiful Cotswolds.

Teagles cottage is truly a home away from home. We enjoyed our stay with family; cottage is clean, comfortable and provides all facilities. Location is fantastic, walking distance from shops, restaurants, pubs, tea rooms in Stow. Served as an ideal base for our visits in the Cotswolds region, with most of the main destination within short driving distance.

A charming cottage in an excellent location

We booked Teagles Cottage for a 3 night stay in July. The cottage was very well presented, very comfortable and the welcome basket provided on arrival was much appreciated!
The location is excellent very close to the centre of Stow and with a couple of pubs/restaurants less than a minute's walk away.
If the weather lets you down then there's decent WiFi, a DVD player and a smart TV with access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc so long as you have a subscription.
Overall would definitely recommend.

Perfect location.

Great cottage in a fab location with off road parking for one car. Cottage is lovely and had lots if thoughtful touches. Negative points were that the rooms and bedding were too warm, lounge seating not comfortable and a few cobwebs around the wall lights.

Teagles Cottage provided us with ideal accommodation for a family weekend get together to celebrate a big birthday. It was really clean and comfortable and located very near to the centre of Stow. It proved to be an excellent base for our local trips made to Burford, the Slaughters and Chipping Campden.
