Overview
Renowned as one of the finest market towns in the Cotswolds, Chipping Campden is instantly recognisable by its beautiful limestone townhouses which frame the iconic High Street. No prettier an example is Singer House; an elegant, ivy-strewn two-story townhouse neatly nestled in the heart of the town, just a stone’s throw from the famous ‘Wool Church.’ A real home away from home, it’s easy to see why Singer House sees the same guests returning year after year to soak in its surroundings.
Sleeping up to six guests across three beautifully appointed bedrooms, each of which is charmingly decorated in its own individual style, Singer House is the perfect choice for families, couples, or small groups in search of a relaxing escape with everything you could need on the doorstep. Magazine-worthy interiors expertly blend the period with the contemporary for a distinctly boutique feel, with a wonderfully large sitting room, open-plan kitchen/diner, and separate dining room affording guests plenty of space within which to unwind.
Best of all, the kitchen’s stunning glass doorway hides one of the prettiest courtyard gardens that you’re ever likely to see; a private little hideaway from the hubbub of the High Street, framed by Cotswold-stone walls and lush topiary at every corner. A real suntrap no matter what the season, it’s the perfect spot to unwind with a sundowner or enjoy a feast courtesy of the firepit BBQ; if the many foodie haunts of Chipping Campden can’t tempt you away, that is.
Expertly blending the period with the contemporary, the real beauty of this townhouse lies behind its Cotswold stone exteriors. Stepping inside from the High Street directly into the soft lighting of the flagstone-floored hallway, you’ll immediately get a sense of the townhouse’s history; charming nods to years gone by evident in the ironwork lamps, period artwork, and decorative hunting paraphernalia adorning the walls. To the hallway’s right-hand side sits a show-stopping sitting room. A real masterpiece of refinement, this elegant retreat overlooks Chipping Campden’s High Street through shuttered bay windows, boasting sumptuous cream sofas, bookcase-lined walls, traditional period artwork, and tasteful antique furniture, plus a huge central open fire for cosy nights in.
Following on at the end of the hallway, you’ll find a spacious kitchen/diner, plus a compact but very well-equipped utility room complete with a hidden WC. Modern and traditional in equal measure, the attractive shaker-style kitchen is flooded with natural light thanks to a stunning glass extension, opening-up directly into its hidden courtyard garden. For relaxed dining, a rustic banquette dining table in the kitchen is the perfect spot, with a handsome formal dining room found to the rear of the house.
Upstairs, three generous bedrooms offer an elegant space for up to six guests to rest their heads. The first, found just at the top of the staircase, is the embodiment of Cotswold-chic; country-grey hues adorning the walls, a dainty glass chandelier hanging between exposed beams over an antique French double bed. Next to the home’s family bathroom sits bedroom two, completely different in style thanks to the framed artwork of musicians from years gone by covering the walls, plus a glass Juliet balcony overlooking the courtyard garden. The large master of the house is a nod to turn-of-the-century luxury, boasting high ceilings, a separate seating area around a beautiful marble fireplace, huge picture windows overlooking the High Street below, and its own in-room roll-top bath. A sleek en-suite affords the space with even more privacy, making it the perfect room for romantics in search of R&R.

Stunning Cotswolds House

The house is absolutely beautiful, centrally located, equipped with everything and more than you need for a relaxing break away. The house is just a dream, we all had the most amazing 3 night stay, everything was perfect with the added touch of fresh milk and a homemade lemon cake awaiting us. Lots of small luxury touches throughout the house. Definitely recommend and we will be back (perhaps without the children next time)

Our 3rd Visit

We had the most wonderful stay at Singer House - again!. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by its charm, comfort, and stunning character. The interiors are beautifully kept, with incredible touches throughout, and the stonework in the dining room and bedroom is simply fascinating. The master Bedroom is just wow! Its a home that feels both grand and welcoming, with everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay.
Chipping Campden itself is a delight it has everything from lovely shops, cafés, and countryside walks yet it was hard to leave the comfort of Singer House each day! Everyone is so friendly too.
Thank you for sharing this very special home with us. We left with so many happy memories and cant wait to return.

Singer House feels just like a beautiful country home. It’s cosy and comfortable and has absolutely everything you need for your stay. We sat in the lovely interior courtyard garden on the warm sunny days. You step out of the front door right into the heart of a pretty Cotswold village with plenty of places to eat, drink or shop. Parking not a problem - right outside the front door with no restrictions. We stayed for a week and it was perfect.

One of my very favorite stays!

This place is charming, comfortable, conveniently located near a small (but well-stocked) shop and restaurants in a beautiful small town. The host was lovely and helpful, and genuinely cares about the place. We had an absolutely beautiful few days here and very much hope to be back!

Singer House has been beautifully decorated and styled. Separate lounge and dining room all reflecting the period of the house. The location on Chipping Campden High Street is superb.

A lovely stay at Singer House

We had a wonderful week at Singer House and thoroughly enjoyed its wonderful location and its warmth and charm. The property is well located on High Street in Chipping Camden but toward the end of the shopping area so a bit quiet. The little courtyard garden and sunny kitchen were heaven in the morning with a perfect sitting area for enjoying coffee and listening to the birds before setting out to explore for the day! Parking was quite easy and the location made a perfect spot for exploring the Cotswolds by foot and by car as it is an easy walk to Broadway and Hidcote as well as charming Broad Campden. Paul and Fiona were great hosts and responsive and helpful when we had a small issue in the property(old house!). We will want to return here!

This cottage is delightful. Being right in town is a real plus. I highly recommend this property.

Best house we have stayed in

We loved our stay at the beautiful Singer House. It is such a welcoming place especially the little extras such as a delicious cake and fresh flowers. Our host was very friendly and helpful and added touches that made it a most comfortable place to stay. The location was great for eating out and good quality shops within a short stroll. We enjoyed having our breakfast and BBQ in the beautiful courtyard. We will definitely revisit again.

An awesome venue

Singer House provided the perfect base for a stay in the Cotswolds. It is a perfect base for Chipping Camden as all is within a simple walk. We would (will) definitely use again.

Stunning Cotswold Home in Chipping Campden

This was my family's second visit to Chipping Campden and our first occasion to stay at Singer House. The website and its photos, while very nice, don't truly reveal just how lovely this beautiful home is! The location on High Street is excellent and with the expected exception of weekends, there's ample parking just outside the front door. Stepping through the door, you'll find that every room is tastefully decorated in period appropriate furnishings and decor. Details make all the difference, and Fiona has certainly paid attention to the details. From the main sitting room to the well-appointed modern kitchen, the lovely and private outdoor patio garden, and the spacious bedrooms (especially the Master Bedroom!), this home truly has everything we could have imagined. Our stay couldn't have been any more enjoyable. We'll definitely be returning to Singer House on our next trip to the Cotswolds.

Superb stunning house on the main high street

Superb stunning house on the main high street in Chipping Campden. We had a lovely stay here. Super comfy and amazing decor. We were about 100m from all restaurants, shops, and pubs. Parking was right outside or about 50m away as spaces become available all the time. So was easy to load and unload. Host left us a cake on arrival and Simon who let us in was super helpful. Kitchen was amazing you will not be disappointed this is a fabulous house. Thank you Fiona I will be back soon hopefully

Family get together

Fiona greeted us and shared her beautiful home with us. It is super well equipped with everything we could possibly need. A beautiful roaring fire in the sitting room was a perfect place to relax.
The location is perfect
right on the high street with shops and pubs within easy reach.
We hope to definitely return!

Singer House

We had a lovely Cotswold break at this beautiful house. Great location with everything on your doorstep.

Lovely, charming cottage, with a bit of street noise

The home is lovely, especially the kitchen and courtyard areas. Its a roomy 3 bedroom, 21/2 bath and the pictures provided accurately portray its appearance, which is very pleasing. The location comes with a plus and a minus. It was very convenient to be located on High Street, a few steps away from shops, restaurants, The Cotswolds Way and historical things to see. The downside was the noise from street traffic which was noticeably loud in the lounge and primary bedroom upstairs. If the noise isnt an issue for a future guest, then I would recommend Singer House.

Extended Stay in the Cotswold

Wife and I rented Singer House in Chipping Campden for four weeks this Summer. We were joined by friends and family off and on during our stay. Singer House is right on the main street in the heart of Chipping Campden --fantastic location. GPS gives you the wrong location for the house. It actually fronts to High Street and is about 50 yards from the Lygon Arms Hotel. The house itself is full of character and suited our needs well. We especially enjoyed the garden and the fireplace in the living room. As with any 100+ y.o. building, there are eccentricities and as long as you have your expectations in line, you will really enjoy staying in this house. The kitchen in this house is well kitted, full-size appliances, dishes, utensils and even some spices and cooking oils. When we did run into issues with the house, the owner was very responsive. If we ever return to the Cotswold, and we certainly hope to, can't imagine staying anywhere but Singer House.

Lovely house in Chipping Campden

Lovely house in very pretty town. Furnished with combination of antique and modern furniture, which works well. Plenty of books, DVDs. Beds very comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with everything possibly needed.
The courtyard garden is delightful, very private.
Restaurants within easy walking distance, and good local delicatessens.
The main bedroom is spacious, a huge Gingko tree sits just outside one window, and the other overlooks the pretty garden of the neighbouring house. There is some noise from the road in the local rush hour, but we didnt find this a problem.
There are many wonderful Cotswold villages nearby, plus NT houses/ gardens etc.
Recommend Burford Garden Company (great for a wet day, everything you could possibly not need but want!) and Daylesford. Burford is a stunning small town. Tetbury is within an hours drive, great for antique shops.
Elizabeth Bradley
Fabulous house and location

This beautiful house is perfectly located in the beautiful town of Chipping Campden, walking distance to plenty of places to eat and drink and lovely shops to wander around but not as busy as some of the other Cotswolds towns. We enjoyed a lovely circular walk up to Dover Hill which offers fabulous views. The house itself is very traditional in style, is well stocked with everything needed to be self catering if you choose. A gorgeous little courtyard to sit out in at the back enjoys the morning and afternoon sun. Fiona the host was easy to contact and very helpful.

Superb Cotswolds House

Gorgeous house and very well-equipped. Steps from all the interesting and useful places in Chipping Campden. The personal welcome was also delightful.

Quirky property nicely located

We stayed 3 nights at Singer House and found it to be very comfortable and well placed for exploring Chipping Camden and visiting the wider Cotswolds area.
The beds were comfy and the kitchen well equipped. Being April the weather was mixed and quite cold but the house, when the heating was on, was warm and cozy.
Little things seemed missing such as a welcome pack. (Usually provided when renting a property in this price range.) There was milk in the fridge but no other basics such as bread, butter, biscuits etc.
Also a loo roll holder and shower shelf in the large bedroom en suite would have been useful.
The fresh flowers were a nice touch but the silk flowers did seem to be dust magnets.
All in all we had a pleasant stay at Singer House and it was a shame we were not able to make use of the lovely outside space due to the weather and time of year.

Singer House

Singer House is beautiful and different. Lots of room for a family of four plus a dog. The bedding is lovely and beds very comfy. The master bedroom is large and with a bath in it, adds a touch of something a bit different. The house is creaky because its an old property, which we loved. We also loved the lounge area with its fire and cosy feel. Perfect for a game of cards. Couldnt figure out how to use the DVD player though (dont worry Sky was available)!
Fiona the owner was super responsive to a couple of queries. These were fixable with shower heads needing a bit of an extra clean due to limescale build up causing multidirectional showers:) and fires bit too smokey. Only thing Bolthole Retreats needs to do is update its equipment list. Theres no toasty or straighteners as examples. All manageable of course (and Fiona very kindly offered to sort) but we had planned with equipment in mind.
Location is fab. Right on the high street. Parking not guaranteed but we always found somewhere close.
Would definitely recommend.

Lovely characterful House for a short stay, right in the centre of Chipping Campden.

Wonderful Stay

This house is beautifully maintained, spacious, and well located. It is even more beautiful than the photos. The host, Fiona, met us at the house and was available to answer every question with amazing quickness. The home is perfectly located to walk to the shops and restaurants in Chipping Campden, and is just a short drive from many sites in the Cotswolds. While close to the town centre, we were pleased with how quiet it is at night, and would note that the beds were so comfortable. We would like to thank Fiona was hosting us and we highly recommend this lovely house for other couples or groups looking to stay in this area of the Cotswolds.

Fabulous house in an excellent location

Singer House is full of character and is in an excellent location, right on the High Street in Chipping Campden. It has the prettiest little courtyard garden, which we made full use of during our stay, as we had beautiful weather. We didnt want to leave! There are a few small things that need attention; mainly the overpowering smell of woodsmoke in the living room (even though we didnt use the fire), which was very oppressive (maybe the chimney needs looking at?). It meant we couldnt sit in the living room, but as we had such good weather, we were outside in the courtyard garden, or out exploring the picture-postcard villages nearby, so it didnt ruin our stay; however it does need to be looked at to make the room (which is absolutely beautiful, by the way) habitable on colder days/nights. Chipping Campden itself is stunning and has lots of good pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and shops. We had a lovely time and would definitely stay again.
Lesley Smith
Beautiful house in a beautiful place

Singer House is a truly special place, and we really enjoyed our stay. The house is very tastefully decorated, and its location on Chipping Campdens High Street is exceptional. An excellent place to explore the Cotswolds, we can definitely recommend it and will try to return.

Enjoyable stay in Singer House

We all had a wonderful stay in Singer House, the house was perfectly equipped and in a very convenient location, for both Chipping Campden itself and the surrounding Cotswolds area.

Lovely accommodation in Chipping Campden

Singer House is a lovely home in a superb location. It is on the High Street, within a short walk to restaurants, pubs, shops and grocery stores. The bedrooms were amazing with comfortable beds and cozy bedding. The inner courtyard was very inviting and bright. The home was a fantastic mixture of old and new. My only complaint would be that I found the floors cold on the main level which was minor to say the least. If we are ever back in Chipping Campden, we will be sure to stay again.
Nadia Lypka
Beautiful house in a perfect location

We had the most wonderful stay in Singer House. The house is larger than the pictures led us to believe and even more beautiful. Magazine worthy inferiors, stunning courtyard garden. Its in a great location with restaurants, walks and great pubs on the doorstep. We couldnt fault our stay or the service from the team and cant wait to come back one day .

Perfect place to spend some time

This is a beautiful property, and very well presented. Feels a real luxury to stay there. It's also in a perfect position on the high street. You can literally lock your car up and forget about it, as everythig is closeby. Lovely little shops, pubs, restaurants and walks too. Highly recomended.

Stunning home in beautiful Chipping Campden

Just returned from a very welcome break at Singer House and it was the perfect retreat from the crazy stresses of 2020. Regular visitors to the Cotswolds we have never stayed in Campden before but cant recommend this stunning house highly enough. Its beautifully appointed and as good as it looks on the pictures. Would love to return in the summer when the beautiful courtyard would be a wonderful place to spend time. Great location at the end of the high street and lots of beautiful villages within a short drive too. We will definitely return!

Weekend break

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful 4 night stay at Singer House recently. The house has the real wow factor as soon you step in. The living room is gorgeous and we had some great evenings by the fire. The outside area was beautiful and I can imagine in summer would be a great place to sit outside. The house is in a fantastic location with everything on your doorstep. The owner of the property went out of her way to assist us with any issues.

Singers House

Singers House is beautiful. We have loved staying here, great location, lovely courtyard, everything you need. Only downside is that it gets pretty noisy in the mornings as the house is located directly on the high street - but everything else makes it worth it. Well be back for sure - wed love to see the house and the area in the winter - it would be wonderful to have the fires going!
Lisa Robbins
Cosy, beautiful house.

On our arrival the heating was already on making the house warm and inviting. It was beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated with a well equipped kitchen. We lit the log fire in the lounge where our host had thoughtfully lit candles to welcome us. The beds were very comfy with feather pillows and duvets and no memory foam to cause overheating. The courtyard would be a fabulous bonus in summer!

Perfect holiday cottage- Oct 2019

Perfect holiday cottage in the heart of Chipping Campden. We couldnt have picked a better place to stay in the run up to our wedding. The master bedroom is amazing, especially the roll top bath! Beautifully decorated, and extremely clean throughout. Dog friendly which was great. We will definitely be back again in the future!

Stunning property

This is a stunning historical property that is bigger than it appears from the front. Set in a beautiful unspoilt village with plenty of places to eat and drink. Everything you need is In the house from condiments to towels and soap. The owners and caretakers were really pleasant and this is a great location to explore the area. The furnishings and finishes are everything you would hope for in a period property. Great house

Holiday with a family of five

We loved our stay in this home full of personality and with the great location. It worked well for a family with three children .
We were very warm and this was a big plus as it was so cold outside and coming from a NZ summer this helped a lot.
Our stay was better than we expected, and will tell friends to 100% use it.

A weeks family get away

This is a fabulous and spacious period property ideal for a family with all the creature comforts of your own home.
The huge sitting room with a roaring fire, make a perfect place to relax after a days waking in the beautiful Cotswolds.

A wonderful holiday retreat in chipping Campden . Perfect for the family to come together

We live in Malta and wanted to spend a week in the Cotswold so our working children could join us we they could . We picked chipping Campden as it is a picture perfect village . Has great walks on the Cotswold Way , a gym , good restaurants and you are able to shop locally without travelling to another town .
Our host was brilliant and we couldnt recommend more highly
