Fabulous place

Highly recommend a stay here. Very comfortable and great value for money given the size of the property. Having a pub next door was really handy! Loads of walking straight from the door. We parked our cars up and didnt use them again until we left

Absolutely lovely house. Clean, big, modern with beautiful walks straight from the door. And really handy for a pub!

Cotswold long weekend

Excellent situation in lovely village but away from the crowds. Plenty of space for 5 adults 1 child and a dog. Loved the hot tub.
WiFi not the best for working from holiday!

10 day Summer Holiday

A gorgeous house in an idyllic setting. Big rooms throughout and all very modern. Lovely gardens and the hot tub was fantastic.
Could do with a small safe and a better hoover but theyre not faults just suggestions.

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Maple House, the house was large, spacious, beautifully designed and, very well equipped, with excellent facilities. We especially enjoyed the two gardens, which had plenty of seating and the large hot tub was definitely a bonus. What an amazing home from home. There was plenty of room, when we all wanted to be together or to have a quiet moment to ourselves. The location of Maple House was excellent for eating out, with a pub and farm shop nearby and both being dog friendly. There were many places of interest in the local area, most within a 15 minutes drive. I would definitely recommend Maple House, hosted by Bolthole Retreats. We will definitely be back again.
Karen
Lovely place in ideal position. Some issues however.

Position was fantastic with great outlook over fields, a pub next door (no noise at all during week) and a lovely farm shop down the road (fairly steep hill if walking).
House was, on face value, clean and tidy with everything we needed, although a tea towel and torches would have been nice.
Before arriving we asked the head of the maintenance team if we could get in early so that we could get a late Sunday lunch at the local pub and they were happy to let us in an hour early. Thank you. However, unknown to us the previous guests were late leaving meaning the cleaning team were pushed for time. This was evident by the hot tub, which had either not been emptied/refilled or had been done in a hurry (the hot tub had a child's hair-clip at the bottom and the water had a few black bits floating). In addition, when we moved one of the armchairs a foot or so in the lounge to catch more of the sun, underneath was a wet, soiled nappy. We reported these issues to the head of the maintenance team who apologised and explained that the cleaners had supplied photos of the cleaned hot tub but offered to clean the hot tub again. This would mean the hot tub taking another 24 hours to get up to temperature so we declined.
We were confused that the guest instructions indicated strictly no candles and yet there were a number of tea lights and holders dotted around the house.
Unfortunately for two nights, the guests at Rowan House were noisy into the early hours, eating and drinking loudly in the garden, although of course this is not the fault of the owners at Maple House, just highlights the issue if other guests show little respect for others.
Despite the few issues highlighted, this is a great place for a family holiday.
Definitely recommend visiting the Cotswold Motor Museum in Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway and the brewery tour at Hook Norton.

Lovely house

The house was lovely but the garden needed a good sweep front and back. You couldnt help taking dirt inside which is why I only gave it a 4 instead of 5. The oven trays need replacing. Luckily I had taken tin foil so could cover them. New chopping boards wouldnt go a miss either. For meals the Howards Arms and Ebrington Arms were both lovely. Chipping Camden is only 2 miles away.

A lovely location

We stayed with extended family for a long weekend. There was plenty of room for 5 of us and 1 dog. On arrival we were pleased to find that tea, coffee, milk had all been provided and during the stay we really appreciated the supplies left by the owners (eg, dishwasher tablets, handwash, toilet rolls).
The location itself is lovely although parking is a little tight when the other properties are occupied, so the village car park was useful to have nearby.
The property has everything you need and we would definitely revisit.
The only thing I would mention is that we didnt use the garden area at the back as the bamboo screening, between our property and the one next door, had a hole in which meant that our small dog could have got into next doors garden. It didnt impact our stay but just worth noting.

This was a lovely location to stay. Accommodation of a high standard and everything you could need provided. A stones throw to the pub.

Family celebration

We had a lovely stay at Maple House to celebrate a family birthday. Seven adults in attendance although the property would easily accommodate 9 adults and additional (small) children in travel cots (if allowed by the owner?). Location was excellent for what we wanted and The Ebrington Arms was very close by with an excellent range of beers on tap and great restaurant which we dined at one evening.
Small issue with the boiler when we arrived but this was sorted quickly and efficiently by Tim and his team soon after we reported the issue. The Jacuzzi was an added bonus for our trip. I would highly recommend Maple House with its idyllic Cotswold location.

Very good

Location - bit difficult to find. Satnav confused.
Wi Fi difficult to set up. Sim card fell out of router. Your contact didn't know how to fix it. We fixed it ourselves eventually. Maybe this needs a review.
Small thing - washing up brush lacking. More drying up cloths needed.
However, generally a very nice house with pub so near and beautiful countryside within easy reach.
Would come again.0

a great property to connect with friends, comfortable and great location

Maple house is well appointed, comfortable, in a great location. the pluses...clean bedding, towels, plenty of kitchen equipment, very comfortable beds and endless hot water supply and several shower rooms! wonderful location, heard the church bells on Sunday morning! ideally situated to access local towns and villages, with plenty of interesting places to visit.
stuff that was a niggle....parking in the courtyard was a faff, limited space, the next door rental car had parked too close to our space. parking in the village car park was so much easier, outside the front door of property. We ran out of loo rolls half way through the weekend, didn't give this scenario a thought as this was a high star, luxury style property that wasn't cheap, MORE LOO ROLLS please! the TV was v problematic on the Sunday, eventually had to hold the aerial in with a stool, can of beans and a knife block to hold aerial lead in ( which was hilarious!) and a bit annoying. there were cobwebs in most rooms, our party of 5 all noticed it, however, the bedding and cleanliness of shower rooms were very good. the property was chilly when we entered but soon found the boost button on the heating control, then was nice and warm.

August 2024

We booked Maple house for a family birthday celebration in August 2024. From the booking process, to arrival, to checking out, everything was amazing. We booked through Bolthole retreats, and we were provided a personal log in to our booking which showed option to add extras, make payments and also came with information on the area and a welcome guide to the house. This included catering options in the area, local restaurants and pubs, walks around the area, discounts and much more, which was extremely informative. The house was right next to the Ebrington Arms pub which is a lovely village pub with great food. We had lunch there one day and used the 10% discount from Maple House. The house was extremely clean and the perfect layout/size for our large family, including a larger room downstairs which was great for those with children who need extra space for a cot. We bumped into the cleaners on arrival who were extremely friendly and helpful. The area is secure and gated so great for us with children running around! We were in contact prior to arrival regarding early check in and Tim came back to us straight away and accommodated us where possible which was very helpful. Check in/out and information was provided to us a few days before and was exactly as mentioned making it very easy on arrival to find keys etc.
Overall a very enjoyable stay, lovely house and beautiful area, and a very smooth booking process. We will definitely visit again.
Rebecca McChrystal
Disappointing stay.

Areas of outside needed attention broken outside seating dirty table . Inside of property clean but dirty oven, broken door on tumble dryer ,no hot tub towels as described in contents. duvets too heavy for summer and could have done with a couple of fans ,rooms in eaves so hot, couldn't have velux windows open if it rained ,water came in. Overall disappointed ,for the money we paid.

60th Birthday week for family

Maple House is a modern , very spacious house in a great location in North Cotswolds. Ideally located for visiting attractions. We had a crawling baby so easy to "baby proof" and advantageous to have a couple of ground floor accessible rooms. Generally well appointed with comfortable beds and convenient en-suites.
Couple of minor gripes - outside area needed a clean prior to use / hoover provided was u/s and we had to take apart to make it operable , no iron present and the tumble dryer required "defluffing" prior to use.
Overall though we had a great week , outside area with hot tub was excellent , the village is v quaint and the Ebrington Arms looked after us very well for our birthday lunch.
Andrew Hills
A long weekend break

I stayed with 6 other friends for a long weekend and there was plenty of bedrooms and shared living space in both the lounge and the kitchen. The outside seating areas both in the rear garden and outside the kitchen doors provide a lovely space to relax with plenty of seating. The hot tub was a real bonus and fun to relax in and with the pub just across the car park it was a perfect location. It was quiet and peaceful. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at Maple House.

A great place to stay to relax with friends

We had a great break away at Maple House. 9 of us stayed but there was plenty of space for all of us and it was just what we needed. The hot tub was the perfect addition!
A great location for great walks, amazing pub next door. We would definitely stay again.

Easter break with the family

We loved our stay at Maple House, it had everything we could want that made our Easter break such a chilled out fab time
Location is excellent - lovely pub on the doorstep and fab farm shop 5 mins away
Nice walks all around the lovely village. Excellent service from Tim re the forgotten scarf

Week one in the UK

We have several family members in the immediate area, so it was decided that we would book the Maple House for space - at the end no one else stayed which was not a problem as they popped in and out when they were around. Location was superb.
Couple of small things - some more cooking dishes might be good in the kitchen, a revamp in the cutlery drawer might be needed soon, a larger tv in the living room would be good - a tv in the main bedroom might also be a good idea.
Small things like a small amount of washing liquid or powder for the washing machine, oh and the tumble dryer might need a service.
Apart from that, see you in a week or two on our return.
Jim Duncan
Birthday weekend

Great place to spend quality family time. Lovely cottage, did not disappoint, all as described with plenty of space. We chose this property as it had the facilities we wanted, nicely furnished, bedrooms with en-suites for 3 generations of our family.
Parking easy with 2 spaces at the back and free car park in front.
For the amount we paid a few very small things could be improved, in the kitchen only 2 baking trays, 1 rusty.
Also why leave practically empty soap bottles in the bathrooms that have clearly been topped up with water
glad we brought our own.
Only 1 bath towel each provided so take your own for the hot tub.
1 pub in the village, right opposite the house, food good
Vegetable Matters farm shop nearby shame its closed Sunday and Monday as lunch good.
Very close to Chipping Campden for more choice of shops and restaurants.
Would definitely consider renting again in the future.
Julie Brown
Lovely weekend stay for the whole family

We have stayed at Maple House before (and have booked again for next year!) so we knew what to expect. The house is the perfect size for the 8 adults and 3 tiny kids (plus the dog). The hot tub is the icing on the cake!
Robert Armstrong
Great property in a great location

We stayed here as a family group of eight people. Maple House was in an ideal location and very clean, warm and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. Everyone had their own bathroom which worked really well. The hot tub was also very popular.
My only (minor) criticism would be that for a house at this price there would be a few extra touches. The stairgate, which we were asked to use to keep our dog downstairs, didn't work due to missing cups. We had to prop it up to stop the dog going upstairs which was fine, but wouldn't have worked with a child as they would have pulled it over. There was only one tea towel for the house, a limited number of dishwasher tablets and no washing up liquid or washing powder. These have always been provided in other houses at this price point.
The local pub (20m away) was fabulous.
Would definitely recommend and we would stay here again.
Andrew Deighton
Not the luxury we expected

Outside space/garden furniture untidy/cushions dirty
Beds/bedding mediocre quality
Cooking equipment lacking

Beautiful Place To Relax

A beautiful, modern home in a quiet location. A fantastic location for exploring the Cotswold towns and villages.
The pub opposite the front door serves fantastic food and there is a superb farm shop and cafe just down the lane.

The perfect Cotswolds location

This area is our favourite in the Cotswolds, and Maple Cottage is just the perfect location to enjoy it all. Ideal starting point of so many walks - both short strolls and longer hikes. Having a fantastic pub almost literally on your doorstep is just ideal. The farm shop is just a short walk away and this is also fantastic for lunch in their cafe or to stock up if you are eating in.
The garden is completely secure, very unusual to be able to stay somewhere and totally relax knowing our little dog cant escape! We would highly recommend staying here.
Julie Finch
Lovely Location

Lovely location for exploring lots of Cotswold attractions. Property itself was lovely, but lacked a few essentials, e.g. doormats on entrances given that it is a dog friendly property in the country and impossible to keep floors clean without them. No bowl in kitchen for washing up and lacking few other kitchen essentials. On the whole a lovely property in good location, just needs a few finishing touches.

A lovely weekend stay

We really enjoyed our weekend stay at Maple House.
The location is perfect - right near the pub & the garden was perfect for 2 dogs, with added bonus of a hot tub!
We were blessed with amazing weather so the long walks out into the Cotswolds were lovely.
The house was great too - well looked after & furnished with lots of space. The beds were very comfy too although the house itself was very warm!!

Fab house in a wonderful location

Wonderful place to stay. House was really well equipped (apart from a lightbulb missing in hall lamp & fan not working in downstairs en-suite) and very comfortable & welcoming. Location is amazing - local pub Ebrington arms is fantastic & couldnt be any closer.
Love the cotswolds!

Family weekend

Great place for the extended family and dog. Great location and excellent quality. It would have been good if an extra TV was provided for the children. Otherwise excellent, would recommend
Philip Care
Highly recommended

A beautiful house in a lovely location. The house was spacious and very comfortable, very well equipped . Situated in an excellent location with many beautiful places to visit in the area.
The hot tub was a real bonus too.
We visited as a family of 10 which included 3 children and an infant (our grandchildren) and would highly recommend it .
Celia Richards
A lovely well maintained property

We stayed here to celebrate my 80th birthday. The property was immaculate and we all found it very comfortable. It's situation is quiet even being on the edge of the village car park. Cross over the car park and you are in the garden of a very good pub. I was surprised to find the hot tub operating and some of the party used it on each day of our stay. I had a thoroughly brilliant time here.

Special birthday weekend

Stayed here with family for a big birthday celebration. Super comfy house but did have an issue with the hot tub which unfortunately wasnt resolved during our stay despite the owner coming out to have a look. This was a little disappointing but nevertheless we all had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this house. Plus it is a stones throw from the lovely Ebrington Arms - we ate here twice and would highly recommend. Super friendly staff, great food in a lively setting.
Catherine Creswick
Lovely stay in a comfortable home.

The house was great, it was nice to arrive with the heating on and the Christmas decorations up which made it really cosy and welcoming. There was plenty of space in all of the rooms and comfy seating for the whole group in the lounge and kitchen.
Having plenty of parking was also helpful as the group had travelled from different places.
The spot was really quiet and private and we didn't feel overlooked when using the hot tub.
The pub next door had a great atmosphere and although we didn't eat there the food looked amazing.
We did visit the farm shop and cafe and enjoyed a fantastic breakfast.
We had a query about the hot tub which was quickly answered by the house manager, and they were very accommodating to our requests.
The information pack provided in advance was really helpful and made it easy to find the place and the keys, and the benefit of self check in meant you didn't have to worry about arriving at a set time.

Weekend trip with the family

A fantastic property in an amazing location. Very spacious with all the amenities. Would highly, highly recommend and we'll definitely be back.
Purdip Daroch
Maple House. Spacious and comfortable

I would thoroughly recommend Maple House. We were a party of 6 adults and 4 children but at no time felt cramped.
William Carrol
Family weekend to celebrate a special birthday.

The house and location were excellent and the house comfortable. The dining table was a good size but a little awkward with bench seats, chairs would have been a lot easier and there were only seven of us even though the house accommodates nine. Not a major problem, just an observation. The hot tub was a great success.
We had an excellent lunch at the Ebrington Arms, conveniently a very short walk from the back of the house. The local Farm shop & butchers sell excellent produce and the cafe is really good too.
Lots of beautiful Cotswold villages within easy reach.

Weekend with family members celebrating a birthday

Great place to stay , pub on your doorstep , hot tub in your garden , what more could you ask for !!
Susan Wheatley
Beautiful place to spend my birthday!

Maple house is absolutely beautiful!
Very modern and comfortable.
Myself and my family stayed their to celebrate my 30th birthday!
Metres away from lovely Ebrington Arms Pub
We spent our time in the garden and the hot tub. As the weather was beautiful.
Our only criticism is that the outdoor sitting isnt very comfortable and some sun loungers would of been nice to lounge on, in the lovely garden area.
Would definitely visit Maple House again.
Thankyou.
Nicole Gomez
A great house for family get together!

We found Maple House to be very comfortable and In a great location and well
Maintained.
The facilities in the house were excellent! A well equipped kitchen with plenty of space to sit as a group.
The adjacent pub was very handy for great meals on the doorstep.
The bedrooms upstairs can get very warm with the Velox windows not opening much, maybe a fan should be placed in the rooms, but that is a personal point of view!
David Roots
Very expensive for one person!! Five bedrooms. 4 unused. No compensation thro bolthole

Very hard to review as family unable to fly from states because of covid. Couldnt cancel. On own!!!
Diane Loosemore
Wonderful family location for get together

The house was perfect for our get together. Size perfect for 2 families each with 2 small children. Inside the house very clean and Safe garden and hot tub for adults perfect.
BBQ was used (not very clean). Unfortunately I had to clean the patio before rest of families arrived as not clean for use. The chairs, table and patio were filthy, several shovel fulls of leaves etc. .Obviously the outside windows and outside had all the debris from the wind storm about 7-10 days previous.
Only other comment
.. House nicely furnished, very clean. The (green bedroom) had a drain smell.
2 small observations which did not spoil our wonderful stay. Thank you!
Elaine Boothman
Short break

We had a really wonderful time staying at Maple house. The accommodation was bright clean and airy and brand-new. The lounge was lovely and big and the kitchen was big enough for nine people to sit round the table comfortably, it was also very clean and well equipped. All the bedrooms were lovely and the beds were very comfortable!
We didnt use the hot tub as run out of time! The surrounding area is beautiful. It is a very quiet place but you can walk to a local cafe which is very close by and there is a pub behind the property where we had a really lovely roast dinner. It was a great base for visiting other villages which are not too far away. It was very easy and straightforward to book the property and the people I spoke to were very helpful ! We were all very impressed! and would love to return to Maple House. Denise
Denise Dean
Lovely house but!

The house was lovely brilliantly situated . However we were disappointed with the cooking utensils there was a small frying supposedly to cater for 9 and no baking trays. Also some of the towels had marks on them . But overhaul we would definitely go back and had a lovely time
Carolyne Forber
A perfect stay

Everything in the property is top quality. The bedrooms were all so nicely done and so comfy, there are plenty of bathrooms for the number of guests and we really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. The decor throughout is beautiful and everything was so clean! We had a wonderful stay and I'd highly recommend this to anyone.

Lovely property for a family stay

Maple House is a lovely place for a multi family stay. The house is really spacious, with a lovely large kitchen/diner and living room. Ebrington is a beautiful village. The pub is a stone's throw away. Vegetable Matters farm shop and cafe was the perfect place for breakfast. The hot tub was a welcome addition.
My only criticism really would be that the garden was a little sparse (no plants/shrubs) and the lighting on the steps from the parking area was poor - but neither of these things detracted from our enjoyment of the house.
Thank you!

Incredible house in an incredible location

We had the most incredible stay at Maple House. The house is beautiful- so clean and comfortable. Ample space for 5 guests, and we had the most wonderful time. The hot tub was great, and a wonderful addition. Perfect stay!!

Lovely Property in Cotsowlds

Maple House is in a small village in the beautiful Cotswolds. The property is well-furnished and well-equipped, ideal for larger parties (8 or 9) for shorter or longer stays. The nearby pub and farm shops offer good local amenities but with a garden, BBQ and hot tub it's also easy to stay within the property. Plenty to do in the area with Chipping Camden a walk away and other well known destinations a short drive.

This place is absolutely lovely but actually is over 40 degrees upstairs and impossible to sleep in - it wasnt even summer !

Very enjoyable stay. Lovely quiet location.

Very new, clean property. Well equipped. Nice hot tub. Comfy rooms. Plenty of room for a large family to dine together.
Gret location to explore surrounding Cotswolds. Pleasant walks from property. Pub next door (didn't visit). Farm shop cafe short walk away.
Responsive assistance on the phone.

This property is more than 5 stars.!!! It is new built, with all the modcons to make your stay comfortable. Great outdoor space with good quality outdoor furniture.
Very spacious and comes with the bonus of a Hot Tube. I highly recommend Maple House No.3.
The Pub is on the doorstep, set in a very pretty village.
