Cotswold Way Cottage is a delightful period stone cottage with a fantastic valley view that would not look out of place in any oil painting. It has been lovingly decorated in a neutral style that allows the colour of the furnishings to shine and makes the most of the original beams and features. It really is a perfect property for a Cotswold stay. After enjoying one of the many fantastic walks in the area, you can warm yourselves next to the wood-burning stove within the open-plan living room and kitchen. At the rear of the cottage is a cosy snug and dining room and up the eye-catching stairs are two bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Overview

A charming unit sits beneath the hob with hare shaped handles and carved wooden doors. To the rear of the ground floor is a dining room with a seating area and TV. Sitting four the dining table gives space to enjoy meals together and there is a chaise longue where you can relax and catch up on unmissable TV. Ground Floor

Open-Plan Living Room/Kitchen:
Entering the cottage, you step into the open-plan living room which leads to the kitchen area. This is a space where you can while away your time in front of the petit but powerful wood-burning stove whilst reading a lovely book or getting lost in conversation. The two comfortable mustard yellow armchairs and matching two-seater sofa ensure you will be able to relax in style with a glass of your favourite drink while taking in the valley view.

A low wooden beam divides the sitting area from the classic country kitchen. It is fully equipped with a four-burner gas hob that sits within a lovely antique wooden unit with adorable carvings and handles. A single electric oven alongside the hob will enable the chef of your party to prepare meals for you using the stunning local produce you have found during the day. The kitchen has everything you will need with crockery and cutlery and even a Hotel Chocolat Dualit machine is close at hand for coffee lovers. You will not fail to notice the original bread oven and decorative stove making a lovely feature in the kitchen.

Dining Room/Snug:
Up the three stone steps and passing a side door to the garden is the dining room and snug. This is a secluded retreat to get a little quiet time. As your main dining area there is a four-seater table and chairs, but there is also a desk for those that need to catch up with a little work.

Sitting comfortably on the green chaise longue you can enjoy your favourite TV programme and the cupboard here houses a nice selection of games to keep everyone happy.

Exceptional lovely cottage, lots of very good equipment and very, very comfortable to stay in!

Verified Up Front Reviews
A lovely host, good communication, a very clean and well equipped cottage. What else can you ask for? The cottage is obviously very old but also very recently completely refurbished. So all the comfort of modern equipment and floor heating goes hand in hand with ancient wooden beams (that are low in some places so mind your head). The cottage is spacious and fits a group of 4 easily, two well sized bedrooms, a proper warm shower and good bath, a cosy living room with a log burner, a very well equipped kitchen and a separate dining/ tv room. All in very good and modern condition and offered by a lovely host who is very communicative and helpful. Parking at the cottage is not possible, this has to be done in the vicinity, that is the only remark I can think of. We had an absolute delight of a stay and can highly recommend.

Short stay

Verified Up Front Reviews
A small cottage very suitable for a short break. Very comfortable beds and well-equipped. Downside: Only realistic parking in the period we stayed was a walk some distance from cottage. As we.were staying there as part of a longer holiday we had a carful of luggage but it was just not feasible to drop off luggage on the corner of a busy junction. So several journeys up and downhill. That, and the noise from traffic passing close by, meant it wasn't one I would personally visit again.

We felt very comfortable in the little cottage. Everything we needed was there. The pub across the street is great. If we're in the area again, we'll book this cottage again.

Jorg

Great place to stay. Everything you need in the kitchen. Beds were comfy which is a big plus. Very quiet inside due to the thick walls.

Cotswold Way Cottage

Verified Up Front Reviews
This semidetached house is located right on a busy crossroads on a steep hill. There is constant road noise from cars, lorries and, motorbikes braking hard at the junction immediately outside the lounge and bedroom window, revving loudly as they pull away up the steep hill and then breaking hard again as they meet traffic coming down the hill. There is no parking close by. The cottage”s outdoor space is not attached but is accessed up a very narrow overgrown steep path behind the neighbour”s property through two gates to keep her dog in. The kitchen area is small with just enough pans to cook a simple meal but needs some larger mugs for morning tea. The shower control is unbelievably stiff and a plumber had to attend to a leak from the bath through the kitchen ceiling into the cupboard above the oven whilst we were there. The owner dealt with all issues promptly and as long as you are happy with the above it is a lovely little house to stay at!

Cute all-in cottage

Verified Up Front Reviews
This cute cottage is in a beautiful location and is fully equipped and large enough for four people. The beds are wonderfully comfortable. Bear in mind that you have to bend down to reach everything at the window frames and doorways if you are over 170 cm tall. The location was halfway up the hill with nice views. There is a pub across the street that doesn't bother you. It's a very good base for exploring the Cotswolds. Just bear in mind that it gets very hot in the bedrooms in summer. If you're planning to walk to the centre or supermarket, bear in mind that everything is uphill and downhill, and the hills are very steep. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

Our stay was great, everything was as described and the place is perfect for a 4-person stay: cosy, charming, situated within easy distance of Stroud train station and close to some beautiful walks in the area. A particularly nice touch is the beautifully kept little garden- perfect for breakfast on a sunny day.

What a wonderful cottage! So much character and charm. Beautifully designed integrating original pieces with the modern conveniences of today. It was most delightful and we would love to come back here one day. We really appreciated the underfloor heating and attention to detail. We found it so comfortable. We were 4 adults and found room enough to have our own space. A real pleasure - thank you also to Belinda who was very responsive and helpful. Loved it!

Amanda

Weekend Getaway

We were there with our family and our newborn. The cottage is perfect for 4 adults. The location is ideal close to many Cotswold trails and other villages close by as well. Belinda was a perfect host and on extremely responsive to any questions we had. One thing to note is the parking is a little away.

Beautiful, homey and very clean

Verified Up Front Reviews
We loved it! The cottage is the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed in. Very comfortable, it felt like home. It has everything one might need. Very easy check-in and check-out process. The owner was readily available through text and email and very accommodating, we arrived earlier than the check-in time and had no issues. Location was perfect for what we needed. A quirk about the area: getting a ride. There’s no Uber and the taxi companies work by pre booking, so you most likely will be left without a ride if you didn’t call ahead.

A perfect week

Verified Up Front Reviews
We had a wonderful stay at Cotswold Way Cottage. Beautifully renovated and fantastic attention to detail complete with everything you need for a perfect stay. The beds in particular were so comfortable, I was tempted to try fit a mattress in my suitcase! Joking aside we haven't slept as well in a long time. The cottage was immaculate, the cleanest I've ever stayed in. Although situated on a busy corner without onsite parking we found parking easily a minute or so away. The neighbours were also really friendly and not much noise at all from the pub opposite, the owners of which were very welcoming. With plenty to do, beautiful walks and picnic spots right in the doorstep we didn't make much use of the cute garden at the back. Don’t hesitate! We will definitely return!

Close to Rodborough Commons + Stroud Saturday Farmer’s Market + attentive cottage contact

Verified Up Front Reviews
The photos and descriptions of The Cotswolds Way Cottage are quite accurate. A car is preferred due to the location although it is possible to walk to the Stroud and back if you are used to steep hikes! We were able to spend a day in London visiting the Chelsea Flower Show with our daughter, London resident, by walking to and from the Cottage. The Rodborough Commons and public footpaths as well as the weekly award winning Stroud Market were highlights of our stay at the Cottage.

Clean and comfortable!

Verified Up Front Reviews
We were just in town for a few days for a wedding and we’re able to find this cottage on short notice. The price was comparable or better to other options in the area, but what really made the cottage shine was its unique charm, cleanliness, comfortable beds, and spacious bathroom. The host was also very responsive and professional. I would definitely recommend a stay here to others.
