Overview

Nestled in a hidden corner of the Cotswolds, Coppice House is a real country escape. The house is hugged by woodland and open fields at the foot of Bredon Hill which is made for walkers and mountain bikers. On your way back home at the end of the day, pop into the village pub, The Star Inn. With everything on your doorstep you can hunker down with your family or friends and have a fantastic time in this beautifully rural part of the Cotswolds.

This grand home is warm and welcoming, and its history adds something special to your stay. Conversations are accompanied by roaring open fires in the timber framed drawing room and lunches in the dining room are drenched in sunlight. Traditional aspects in the kitchen fill it with character but rest assured, you still have all the mod cons and the sitting room has a smart TV. There is so much space at Coppice House you don’t need to worry about being on top of each other, and at the end of the day five bedrooms await. Two are on the ground floor which helps ensure all members of your group are comfortable.

From the garden you can really appreciate this black and white timber framed house. The mature grounds are a dream with lawns and flowering beds. Why not have a BBQ while the dogs and children let off steam? You will find some lovely secluded spots to lay a blanket and soak in the sun, listening to the horses in the neighbouring paddock. Surrounded by open fields with Bredon Hill and the Vale of Evesham on your doorstep you can get away from it all and almost forget the outside world exists.

Eating Out: Walks:

Bredon Hill is a beautiful place to explore on foot, and there is no need to drive anywhere to begin a walk.

For a short circular walk, leave the gate and take the steep tarmac track diagonally opposite. Walk up through the woods turning left in the large clearing (recently planted with new trees). Head straight uphill and through the small wooden gate out onto the grass fields. Turn immediately left. Follow the edge of the wood for a short distance and then across to the metal gate ahead of you (roughly at the same height). Keep straight on until you get to the next small woodland. Turn sharp left down a stone track. This leads down to the farm immediately above us where you will pick up the tarmac lane leading back down to Coppice House.

We stayed at the house for a family members birthday and could not recommend it highly enough. The house had excellent facilities and amenities, not to mention extremely comfortable beds, and the surrounding area offered a lot of great walks around the countryside. Would definitely stay again in the future, thank you for a wonderful stay!

A great weekend celebrating a family anniversary

A wonderful house and garden, large spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Great to be dog friendly, they loved the garden!! We found everything we could possibly need in the kitchen. As with any old property it has a few issues with some uneven paving, windows difficult to open and shut, and some extra ventilation in one of the bathrooms (large gap in the outside wall). But overall a great place for a family celebration.

Loved our stay there, private, excellent gardens, comfortable beds, everything to hand to make an exceptional stay. We only had one minor problem, we couldn't get the dishwasher to work correctly.both short and long cycles left residue on all glass, plates and cutlery. Hand washing made a return. Would highly recommend the Coppice to other family groups.

Keith Lea
