Lovely house and location

Verified Up Front Reviews
Lovely house and location. Beautifully furnished upstairs, light throughout, with nice views from all the windows. Comfort would have been a 5 not 4 if both beds had been a bit more comfie. The owners were very attentive when the toaster caused the lights to trip. Would not hesitate to recommend as a perfect place for a quiet retreat, or base to explore the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.

We had such a lovely stay - it’s the perfect place to relax, explore and enjoy the surroundings!

A week of paradise

Verified Up Front Reviews
Wow, what a refreshing week we had - being onsite is a little taste of paradise! Beautiful gardens, unlimited use of the pool and tennis courts, and wonderful hosts in Doug and Nikki. Not only did they provide a welcome gift of fresh bread, milk, eggs and a bottle of wine, but also spoilt us with a selection of homegrown vegetables. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, with a very spacious master bedroom, 2 bathrooms, and a lovely upstairs sitting and dining space overlooking the garden and fields. The only downside is the small kitchen at the foot of the stairs, but it was fine for a week. The Forest of Dean is right on your doorstep with amazing woodland walks and various attractions such as Puzzlewood and Symmonds Yat rock. We’ll definitely be going back next year!

Pete Richardson

Very kind hosts, perfect getaway from London. Forest of Dean, Monmouth, Ross on Wye, views from Symonds Yat - all perfect. House was spacious, clean and quiet with many quiet walks nearby.

Exceeded expectations

Verified Up Front Reviews
We visited with our boys aged 8 & 10 for a long sunny weekend and wished it was for longer! We spent lots of time on both the tennis court and in the beautiful swimming pool. The location was ideal for visiting the surrounding area and we found great places to cycle and kayak nearby. The coach house had everything we needed. The shared access to the tennis court and pool was a non-issue (should that be a concern) and it was wonderful to stay somewhere with such beautiful gardens.

We only had a short stay, and could have easily spent more time there. The accommodation was beautiful, with everything needed being present and also spotlessly clean. The hosts were extremely kind and provided basics to get us through until we got to the shops, including a complimentary bottle of wine. Their guide provided us with a wide range of options in terms of things to do whilst in the area. Overall, it was a super break for the family - would wholeheartedly recommend.
