Overview
Quietly tucked away behind the bustling main street of Broadway lies Box Cottage. Retaining its historic charm which welcomes you as soon as you arrive this is a comfortable getaway in one of the Cotswold’s most popular destinations.
Inside you’ll find pretty interiors with exposed wooden beams, beautiful furnishings and characterful details. Each room has been kept light and bright with a cosy living room, separate dining room and a compact kitchen which has everything you will need. Its hard not to be drawn to the restaurants of Broadway but when you choose to dine in you sit alongside views of the courtyard garden. Upstairs two bedrooms evoke a sense of how this house may once have been with antique furniture and Victorian elements. With a king-size and twin room Box Cottage would be ideal for a small family.
Whiling away the house in the courtyard garden here is a pleasure. Enveloped by Cotswold stone walls beneath the shade of the wisteria covered pergola you are transported to a relaxing haven. Bring after dinner drinks out here to catch the last of summer evenings or sit with a morning cup of coffee and listen as the birds flit by. A charcoal BBQ is available and there is more than enough space to serve meals for the family.
Ground Floor
Entrance HallAs you step through the traditional front door, you’ll find yourself in a light-filled hallway with whitewashed stone walls and parquet flooring. There are hooks for hanging coats and a handy box bench where you can sit to remove walking boots.
Cloakroom
Hidden beneath the stairs there's a step down to the cloakroom with WC and basin.
Dining Room
The charming dining room is beautiful in its simplicity. Pale walls and décor set off the warm wood of the parquet flooring and the circular dining table seats four beside views out to the courtyard.
Kitchen
The galley-style kitchen leads off the dining room and has everything you need for a self-catering stay with an electric oven and hob, fridge-freezer, and a dishwasher. The pale grey design adds to the feeling of light and space and there is a tiny tea making nook squeezed in as well.
Living Room
The cosy living room is furnished in the same pale, calming palette of colours with a comfy sofa, and two armchairs. The original stone fireplace is no longer in use but remains a focal point of the room. The traditional equine art on the walls is a subtle nod to Broadway’s history as an important coaching hub of the Cotswolds. From here you can step out into the courtyard garden.
First Floor
Bedroom OneThe focal feature of the master bedroom is the intricately carved mahogany antique French-style, king-size bed. This spacious room also features built-in wardrobes, dressing table and mahogany bedside tables with reading lamps.
Bedroom Two
The second bedroom at Box Cottage has twin beds, making it perfect for children or friends sharing. It can however also be made up as a double on request. There’s plenty of storage with a built-in wardrobe and a dressing table and there’s a throw-back to the Victorian era with a handbasin tucked behind the door.
Shower Room
Positioned between the two bedrooms, the shower room has a shower, WC and basin.
Outside
This lovely, hidden away cottage has an enclosed, courtyard garden and is the perfect spot for outdoor dining with a wrought-iron four-seater table and chairs and a wooden dining set, which sits beneath a wisteria-covered wooden pergola. Or just enjoy evening drinks or a tranquil morning coffee before the day's adventure begin.Facilities

Perfection does exist...

My family of 5 (3 little ones) stayed a month, and it was like a dream- the cottage is cozy & homey, the kitchen was perfect for celebratory cooking & beverages, and there is literally no beating Broadway for this kind of stay (nor the cottage location a short stroll from the heaven that is Broadway Deli)- an opinion that stayed firm through 1500 miles on a rental car exploring the near countryside. This stay was a once in a lifetime opportunity for us, and Box Cottage rose to the occasion as our home base.

Short family break

Lovely cottage just off High St Broadway, so convenient for the shops and restaurants in Broadway which is beautiful. Parking available on Back Lane.
Cottage was very comfortable; well equipped kitchen with some little extras (tea/coffee/milk and cleaning products).
Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was modern with a decent electric shower.
Lovely courtyard at the back which was a suntrap , it would get well used during the summer.
We had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend.

Charming little cottage in a perfectly central location of pretty Cotswold village. My 4 year old son was enchanted by the place saying he wanted to stay forever!

Excellent location. Very pretty and beds were comfortable.

Beautiful old Cotswold cottage, very conveniently located for everything in Broadway.

This is a lovely terraced cottage in a surprisingly secluded little haven just off the High Street. Its beautiful courtyard garden is private and deceptively generous in size.
I struggled with the Amazon Echo, as Alexa only spoke French, but we sorted it eventually!
Although the Welcome Pack doesnt mention it, there is a dedicated car parking space with a car parking pass for a small / medium sized car which is very desirable in Broadway!
All in all we had a lovely weekend at Box Cottage and were not disappointed at all.

Awesome little bolt hole!

We were absolutely delighted with our stay at the Box Cottage in Broadway. Perfectly located behind the main strip. Conveniently located to all the local villages and sites of the Cotswolds. The cottage is very comfortable with a lovely spacious outdoor area. Beds were super comfy and the kitchen well appointed for cooking at home. Communication with the housekeeper was prompt and easy
even replaced the microwave which stopped working within a day! Wifi was excellent
particularly important for our son who was working throughout our 14 day stay. Broadway is a perfect base for exploring the area
Highly recommended
will definitely book again for future trips to the Cotswolds. Thank you!

Highly Recommended

I booked the Cottage on behalf our relatives visiting from America.
They really loved Box Cottage, and thought it was perfect, with all the English charm, yet with all the modern conveniences.
They thought the patio garden was delightful, and everything inside the Cottage was catered for their needs.
It is a great location right in the heart of Broadway village, yet very quiet and peaceful.

A perfect cottage for the best getaway!

This was our first time in the Cotswolds and it couldn't have been more perfect.
The cottage is so cute and cozy. The neighbors are friendly and helpful.
Broadway is a wonderful town to walk around in and enjoy the beautiful setting.
Restaurants are solid and shoppes are nice.
Couldn't have asked for a better cottage to stay in.

perfect

This was our second stay at Box Cottage. A lovely, comfortable cottage in a fantastic location. A perfect spot to call home for a visit to the Cotswolds. We even got a text to let us know the cottage was ready a few hours early, which is always nice! Thanks so much!

Excellent Choice

An absolutely charming cottage. The location was perfect with just a few short steps from the car and from the main high street. It was warm and clean. Everything we needed was provided for. Broadway has the most amazing deli, restaurants and bars all within walking distance of the cottage. The garden was fabulous to take your early morning coffee and evening drinks. The bathroom was clean and had everything you need (obviously not toiletries). The kitchen is small but compact and very useful and the living room is very comfortable. Overall a fabulous weekend and I genuinely cannot wait to return!

A week at Box Cottage

We spent a wonderful week at this cottage. The location cannot be beat and the cottage itself is comfortable, very well-equipped and spacious. We had one issue (beyond anyone's control) but everyone involved was responsive and efficient in getting it sorted out. A great spot!

Box Cottage, Broadway, The Cotswolds

Box Cottage is a very pretty, well maintained cottage in the beautiful village of Broadway in the Cotswolds! The cottage is situated just off the main high street in a quiet pedestrianised lane. The cottage has a lovely courtyard garden with tables and chairs and a bbq for those lovely summer evenings! The inside is equipped with all the facilities needed for a pleasant stay.
Broadway itself has an array of lovely gift shops, pubs, restaurants and public footpaths for walking off those who extra calories whilst also enjoying the beautiful countryside!. It is also conveniently situated to explore the other highlights that the Cotswolds has to offer.

Mixed experience

Box cottage is situated in a charming row of terraced cottages tucked away behind Broadway main street. Although the cottage was well stocked with all you would need for your stay, was clean and it was easy to communicate with the manager, we were rather disappointed with our choice. Contrary to the pictures we saw, it felt dark, cold, damp and rather unloved. We also had problems with a wasp infestation and a smoke alarm which went off every morning. Hopefully these issues have now been resolved and perhaps we were unlucky, but we all felt that the cottage could do with an update.

Character cottage, excellent location

Beautiful period cottage in the centre of one of the most picturesque villages in the Cotswolds. Wonderful secluded walled sunny garden. Several excellent restaurants and pubs as well as shops within a very short walking distance. While there is generally adequate parking this can on occasions be awkward due to unauthorised usage of the space available. That said I have booked this accommodation on 2 occasions, covering 13 nights in total, and only had a major problem once.

Great cottage for a family stay, amazing location

Clean, beautiful cottage for a perfect family stay. Well equipped and location was so good - close to restaurants, cafes etc.

Beautiful property in Broadway

The property was very comfortable, and the checkin easy. The directions to parking at the back of the property was very good and reasonably easy to follow. The main complaint would be the double bed, as the mattress was very uncomfortable for 2 adults, meaning that one of us ended up sleeping on the lounge downstairs each night. The hot water also ran out every day with a family of 4 showering. Apart from that the property suited our needs and was a great base for exploring the Cotswolds, and a relaxing stay.

Box cottage, Broadway

Lovely cottage, extremely well located just off the High Street in Broadway. Comfortable and well equipped. Really lovely walks around Broadway and great pubs and shops only minutes away. Very pleasant short break!

Cosy countryside cottage

Lovely little cottage, very convenient for main high street shops, restaurants etc but still in quiet tucked away spot. Cottage much bigger than expected with lovely furnishings and secluded walled garden. It was a little chilly there but it was December and parking is a bit difficult. I would recomend though for a couple of nights break visiting the local area.

June 2019 stay

We enjoyed our stay at Box Cottage, finding that it was well represented in photos and description. The location was excellent, being a one minute walk from the picturesque Main Street and a short stroll to the supermarket. The cottage was clean and provided all the facilities we needed. Our only negative comment would be that many light globes were not working, leading to some areas which were somewhat dark. I found the bedding/ mattress comfortable, however my wife considered them yo be too hard.

Cozy little cottage

What a wonderful place to base your travels in the Cotswolds. It was just perfect. The back courtyard was spectacular. Usually pictures over do but in this case, they didnt do it justice. Very comfortable cottage. The only reason it got just a good on condition is simply because its been around a while. They have done a great job of updating. If you want a quaint little cottage with lots of character, book this now

Charming spacious cottage in excellent location

Lovely, well equipped 2 bedroom cottage, set in an excellent location just behind the high Street (no traffic noise). No open fire but lovely and warm with plenty of hot water. Kitchen well equipped with fridge/freezer microwave and dishwasher and loads of plates, cups etc. Downstairs loo ( needs the lock sorting) but good sized bathroom and another toilet with good shower. Nice garden to rear although unfortunately not the weather to use it. Will definitely come back.

Lovely cottage

Comfortable, pretty cottage in a convenient location, surrounded by shops and eateries, what more could one ask?
The Bolthole instructions were lacking for The Hive so I was pretty cold for the first few days until a neighbor came to my rescue. After that it was toasty. This is a great place for a holiday!

Perfect Cotswold Hideaway

We love Box Cottage - it's the perfect Cotswold hideaway! We do a lot of walking and it's great to be able to walk straight out of the door and up to the hills without even thinking about a car. It's so quiet and secluded yet just a few steps from the bustling high street - a superb combination.
As usual everything to do with the cottage itself was great, but this time we experienced a little difficulty with parking. This was partly due to the work being done on rebuilding the wall in the passageway - so can't be helped, I suppose.
We hope to return.

Fantastic location, lovely cottage all home comforts

Four of us stayed here for Easter weekend, two adults and two teenage daughters. The directions provided to the cottage were spot on so we had no difficulty in finding it. The location is excellent, just off the main street in Broadway but it is really quiet. It's an ideal base to explore the Cotswolds. The cottage itself is very well equipped, with even tea and coffee provided. A thoughtful touch were the washing tablets and provision of dishwasher tabs also. The HIVE heating system is excellent keeping us very cosy on a very damp weekend! The bedrooms are very comfortable. The garden outside is a perfect size and I'm sure really lovely to sit out in the summer. We had a very pleasant couple of days here and would recommend it highly.
