Overview
The quiet village of Great Wolford, where Glasfryn nestles, is a wonderful example of Cotswold living just a stone’s throw from Chipping Norton. Amongst the golden cottages, this home sits in an elevated position with views across the surrounding treetops.
Glasfryn makes you feel at ease and is an ideal spot for a country retreat at any time of year for family and friends. Once a well-loved family home it has a beautifully planted garden for spending summer days and a cosy woodburning for the cooler months. The living room and snug become host to board games and evening drinks while the separate dining room provides the perfect opportunity to eat together and put phones away to enjoy conversation. Cook up a feast using the AGA in the kitchen and know that you have a restful night’s sleep ahead in the light and spacious bedrooms, two of which have an en-suite. Outside, fire up the BBQ and set the table for al fresco meals, or enjoy the peace and quiet in the mornings before filling your days with memorable activities.
Surrounded by countryside with a plethora of charming villages to explore, Glasfryn is an unrivalled base for exploring this area. Bring your walking boots and take the family dog for a country stroll across the fields, head to nearby Batsford Arboretum, Sezincote House or one of the many towns and villages.

We booked Glasfryn for eight friends from all over the country to catch up and spend some quality time together. Glasfryn was perfect for that. The size of the house gave us all space but the communal areas gave us the perfect space to get together. The living room was huge and three sofas meant we all had somewhere to sit. The kitchen was really well equipped with lots of utensils, crockery, pans etc. The entire house was very clean and everyone said how comfy the mattresses were. We would be happy to book again.
Clare
The home was spotless, 100% as described. Great value for money. Booked to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday with all the family, including one 3 year old and one one year old. Perfect for the family dog. Plenty of space for parking. A fantastic time was had, thank you.
William
Perfect accommodation for 3 families for a fab weekend away.

Lovely property, well furnished in a rural location

The property was ideal for our purpose. Lovely quiet location. We stayed for 2 nights only but had a wonderful time. Well equipped and very clean. No pubs on the doorstep but that didn't matter as we arranged to eat and drink at the property on one night.

A lovely base for a long weekend

My family and I stayed in this house for a long weekend in September. It was difficult to find a house to sleep 10 people but we found this gem and Im delighted that we did. The house was huge and so comfortable. Plenty of room for 8 adults and 2 kids! The house was very clean and only a few minutes drive from Moreton in Marsh. Could not fault our stay and highly recommend the house to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the Cotswolds.
Ps. We lost a Didly Squat farm fridge magnet that we bought while we were there. If you happen to find it we will happily pay for postage to get it back!

Wonderful stay

This was perfect for old friends catching up with a dog and children - spacious, clean and cosy. The only feedback would be that it was quite hard to find arriving in the dark, as house names are not visible and there wasnt enough signal to use apps.

Good, but not great

Our stay at Glasfryn was good, but not great.
The house is large and has plenty of space and was well equipped.
There were a number of smaller issues, but the main problem was that we had no hot water on Christmas Day morning. When you have 8 adults who cant shower or bath on the most special day of the year, it was a poor experience. Apparently the boiler setting was not put on constant. Words fail me. Claire from Bolthole Retreats was brilliant and very responsive on Christmas day morning and she got the issue resolved.
Apart from that it was a good stay.
Would I stay at this property again? Personally no, but it is a nice property and hopefully future guests will fare better than us
Would I use Bolthole Retreats again? Yes, their response on Christmas Day was outstanding, plus I would recommend booking direct with Bolthole Retreats as you may save money on the booking
