Overview
As you pull up to the main gates of Ragley Estate, there is a real sense of arrival. A symmetrical pair of pale stone gatehouses stand guard on either side of the entrance, the one on the left is Arrow Lodge.
This unique bolthole offers comfortable accommodation for two guests with a stylish bedroom overlooking the garden, a living room which occupies the original part of the gatehouse, plus a kitchen and a little sunroom, which offers a sunny nook for meals.
The rear garden is a real suntrap and is surrounded by high hedges. Two traditional Adirondack chairs offer a spot to relax and soak up the sunshine, those who like to stargaze will be hard-pushed to find a better place than from the warm waters of the wood-fired hot tub.
Ground Floor
The entrance door is to the side of the gatehouse, the original door whilst still in situ, is no longer in use.
Bedroom:
This light and airy room is simply but elegantly furnished creating a restful place to lay your head. A super-comfy king-size bed is made with crisp white linens, and a grey woollen throw and is flanked by two bedside tables, topped with reading lamps. A wooden chest of drawers and wall hooks with hangers provides storage, there’s also an elegant dressing table with a mirror hidden within.
Kitchen:
The compact and well-equipped kitchen is at the rear of the gatehouse and filled with everything you need including a full oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A door leads to a little sunroom with a dining table and two chairs, creating a useful space for meals. There are also doors from here into the garden.
Bathroom:
The shower room features a large shower cubicle with an electric shower and a hand basin. There’s a mirror and a shaver point above the handbasin. The window to the side lets in plenty of natural daylight but can be completely shielded by the louvre blinds. Please note the toilet is separate from the bathroom.
Living Room:
The living room is in the original part of the gatehouse with windows to the front and rear. This room is cosy and bijou with the original entrance door hidden behind thick curtains and a fireplace (not currently in use). Sink into the sumptuous velvet sofa after a busy day at one of the Ragley events or exploring the local countryside and find a good film to lose yourself in on the Smart TV.
Outside

Great place to stay

The lodge was great - combining an historic place to stay with great comfort - including a real fire in the sitting room and a new well-equipped kitchen. Bed super comfy too. Wood burning hot tub was a plus - remember to light it a few hours before you want to use it! Would thoroughly recommend

A nice gatehouse with all convenience's

Fine gatehouse on a huge estate with a lot of sheeps in the frontdoor. Good beds, a closed garden and all you need for a fine stay is there, including a hot tube in the very private garden.

A Piece of History With A Cosy Feel

What a lovely little retreat set in such a place of beauty and history. Every little comfort was available, the kitchen was extremely well equipped and clean. The standards the team work to are extremely high and that is reflected in how the cottage is presented.
Alison was very helpful and kind and added that extra layer of welcome.
If you want to stay in a beautiful part of the country with lots of amenities of the doorstep in a lovely cottage then this is the one for you!

Nice, different property but too much noise

The location of the property is on a main round and is one of the gatehouses to the Ragley estate. We experienced problems with opening and closing the gate, people knocking on our door and windows to gain access/exit and had people, pull up in the entrance as a lay-by. The noise from traffic on the road is loud and it isnt a quiet location, especially if sat outside.
One particular incident happened at 11:30pm when a figure appeared at the window and demanded we let them in. This left us in a state of shock and worried about people outside.
The property was clean and well kept. We enjoyed the welcome cake and wine. Our thanks to the housekeeper. She was also helpful in opening the gates when we arrived as they were jammed open.
Part of the building is the original gatehouse with a modern extension. However, the bathroom was prone to a very damp smell and had to constantly aired.
We tried using the hot spa but couldnt get the fire going well and spent too much time setting it up we didnt bother.
You cant walk around the estate but we had a good view of the sheep each morning that was nice.
We visited many of the locations in the guide and can recommend the property location as a good point to visit attractions. Hillers Farm shop was a convenient pace to shop and the gardens there are full of interesting plants. We went to many National Trust places in the area as well as Stratford which had good parking options.
The local pub was the Arrow Mill Inn. Its a bit pricey but is convenient as its a five minute walk.
We think that there should be double glazing added to the windows to reduce road noise, a clear sign not to disturb the lodge residents and sort out the damp problem in the toilet.

Lovely lodge

Well equipped and superbly located.
Road noise was apparent at first but were aware and gradually stopped noticing it over our two night stay.

Gatehouse getaway

The house whilst small had everything we needed, it was immaculate clean and comfortable with a lovely view of the grounds, traffic noise was minimal we felt the only thing it needed was a small patio table in garden so that we could have eaten outside and used the bbq we didnt want to leave and will definitely stay again

Something Different!

We were visiting the annual Midands Air Festival at Ragley Hall so arranged to stay at Arrow Lodge. The accommodation was perfect for 2 people and only a short walk to the field where the festival was taking place. The enclosed garden is perfect for sitting out in the sunshine, although we didn't try the hot tub! The property is well equipped and is only a short walk to Arrow Mill with a great beer garden and wonderful meals. It is also conveniently located for visiting Stratford-Upon-Avon and surrounding countryside.

Good base for exploring the area

Lovely place to get away for a few days in a quirky lodge. Communication was excellent. The only downside was the road noise from quite a busy road. This did not prevent a good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed.
Well equipped kitchen and a lovely wood fired hot tub enhanced our stay. Lovely soft towels but would have liked another for the hot tub.

Superb short break

Just returned from a 3 night break at Arrow Lodge, a gatehouse on the Ragley Estate. The little house had ample room for the 2 of us and our dog, a great size bedroom with a super king bed which was so so comfy!
The kitchen had everything we needed, was virtually brand new and the welcome pack of wine, cake and milk was an added bonus.
The wood fired hot tub was lit almost immediately and I braved the cool water after about 90 minutes, but it then soon really warmed up.
If you replace the insulated cover after use the water will stay warm enough for a dip after 36 hours.
The Arrow Mill which is less than 10 minutes walk away was great too, we ate there on 3 occasions including Sunday lunch and could not fault a thing.
Please make time to visit Hillers Farm shop and Garden Centre which is just a steady 10 minutes drive through the Ragley Estate, past to Hall and out the other side.
Fresh meat/fish and veg and a brilliant cafe where we had breakfast on the last morning.
We will definitely be recommending and returning

Great place but could use some upkeep.

The stay was great, the bedroom and the kitchen are great and very well maintained and clean. But the place has some holes in the walls and roof were you can see the wiring and plumbings of the heater. Also there were lots of spiders, slugs and spiderwebs too. In this sense it is missing some cleaning too.

Ideal place for a lovely stay

Excellent accommodation in an ideal location. We were attending an event at Ragley Hall so the location couldnt have been any better. Having said that, there are plenty of nice places locally that we also visited. Would happily stay here again if we were visiting this part of the country again.
Accommodation was well equipped and had everything that we needed. Unfortunately, we didnt get the opportunity to try the hot tub!

Beautiful retreat

Arrow Lodge is a perfect little escape. The decor is beautiful and plenty of space for 2. The garden is private and comes with a wonderful eco hot tub. The kitchen is well equipped and we really appreciated the processco and cake in arrival. There was also milk, tea, coffee and sugar.
Well located for Warwick and Stratford and there is the most gorgeous pub (almost opposite).....I think it is called The Arrow Mill? Delicious food and stunning location too. Alverton was also close by and worth a little visit.
Also must mention the wonderfully attentive housekeeping, she was brilliant as answering all of my pre arrival questions.
We will be going again!

Lovely Cottage

Great location for events at Ragley Hall. A shame the garden is not fully enclosed for the dog to run free, but didnt cause a problem. Everything you need is catered for in the cottage. Lovely and cosy, comfy bed and a decent shower !

Cosy lodge retreat

Nice cottage, well equipped with a comfortable and very roomy bed. The sun room was a lovely bright and airy room leading on to the large private patio/lawn. We felt that the property would benefit from an outdoor dining table/chairs.
The road was busier than we had expected and hence was noisy during busy times but was quiet at night. We enjoyed our stay.

Nice place, just not right for us

We booked this stay due to the proximity for some work I had to do, also for some time for my husband to do some remote work while having a night away with our dog
The garden is not enclosed as described so we had to keep the dog on a lead which was something that would have made me chose somewhere else.
Also, I knew it was on a main road and the gate house to Ragley Hall, so we expected a degree of noise. However, there was an event being set up at Ragley Hall which we didn't know about. the noise levels were extremely high with constant traffic passing and large lorries turning directly outside. the curtains had to be closed the whole time.
The majority of windows cannot be opened and it was extremely warm inside, a fan would be a good idea
Also, workmen arrived to measure something up in the garden, this wasn't mentioned and it wold have been good to know as we lost a degree of privacy.

Perfect base whilst we attended the Midlands Air Festival

We specifically booked this property as we were attending the Midlands Air Festival held on the Ragley Estate, and it made a perfect base to be able to attend but also have the option to come and go to the property throughout the weekend. After a lovely conversation with the housekeeper we were also able to arrive earlier than planned which was a bonus. The property itself was great, with its quirky layout and private garden. (The only tiny note I would make is that we couldn't seem to locate any baking trays and a smaller frying pan would be useful additions to the kitchen)

Unique lodge

We enjoyed our stay at Arrow Lodge a beautiful unique very well equipped lodge within walking distance of the lovely Arrow Mill which served fab food and drinks in a beautiful setting, super easy check in and out. Our only gripes would be that although we knew it was on a busy road we didnt anticipate cars and motorbikes constantly stopping outside the lodge which was quite loud at times and the bed being a little to firm for us but thats a personal preference.

Cosy, charming Cotswolds stay

We loved our stay at Arrow Lodge. The Gate House was super charming and comfortable and we had a lovely long weekend. It was a tad cold, but easily fixed by building a cosy fire each night. We managed to use the hot tub, but it did take a long time to get hot enough, so something to be mindful of. All in all though we had a great time, the cottage was clean, cosy and in a great location to visit all of the Cotswolds.
We took our dog with us, and when we arrived it was clear that the garden was not fully enclosed as described which was a bit of an issue. Luckily we were able to block the entrance using the bins so no dramas, but would have been good to have a bit more security on that front.
