Overview
On arrival, guests are greeted with the front of the property where there is a pretty lawn and rose garden, a covered porch, and a handy side porch and door into a spacious utility room, ideal for removing boots, hats, and coats after a day out in the Cotswold countryside. To the side of the cottage is a double garage for guests’ private parking and ideal for storing bicycles too.
A gravel path leads around the back of this secluded property, (passing a woodshed on the way), to a beautiful terrace and patio, with a dining area, sun loungers, BBQ, and large lawn with borders full of flowering shrubs and annuals. A gate at the end of the garden leads directly to the woodland beyond and paths down to the beautiful Chalford Valley and the Thames and Severn Canal.
The handsome exterior of the cottage conceals a stunning interior with its 4-star facilities, beautiful décor, two living rooms, dining area, a fully equipped kitchen/breakfast room, and three very well-appointed double bedrooms, plus one en-suite, one family shower room, and a downstairs cloakroom.
Ground Floor
Entrance:Guests can enter the cottage via the front door, but most people use the convenient side door into the Utility Room with its stone floor, ideal for coming in after a country walk. Here you’ll find a coat and hat rack, a Belfast sink (with a great view over the garden and woodland beyond), a washing machine and dryer, a microwave oven, an ice-making machine, a drinks fridge, plenty of kitchen cabinets containing outdoor crockery, plastic glasses, wine coolers, and vases.
Kitchen-Breakfast Room:
The dual aspect, fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast dining area is a lovely light and bright room with every convenience needed for a self-catering stay. The Kitchen overlooks the front garden and has a beautiful polished limestone floor. It is equipped with wrap-around, immaculate, white kitchen units and a marble preparation surface, a double oven and 5-ring burner hob, a double sink, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, Nespresso coffee machine, and small smart TV, Otoni kettle, and 4-slice toaster, as well as bakeware and all the utensils, china, and glassware needed for six guests.
At the far end of the Kitchen, beside the door into the dining-living area, is a handy breakfast table, comfortably seating four.
Dining Area-Living Room:
The centerpiece of the property is the recent addition of the dining-living area – a stunning bespoke conservatory with exposed oak beams, a brick fireplace with wood burner, a lantern ceiling, beautiful polished stone flooring, and fabulous views through the windows and French doors across the garden to the nearby woodland.
The Dining Area:
Furnished with a large rectangular oak table, comfortably seating six guests, the dining area also has a beautiful ornate mirror, a bookcase (with books and games), an oak sideboard with napkins, glasses, and serving and nibbles bowls.
The Living Area:
This fabulous living area is furnished with a U-shaped, 5-seater recliner sofa and recliner armchair, which face towards a magnificent tree trunk coffee table, a handsome brick fireplace with a wood burner, and a large smart TV with Blu-ray DVD player. French doors lead from the living area out to the patio and terrace. A clever lighting system allows guests to choose the lighting to complement the setting and scene, plus there are plenty of sidelights and lamps for ease of reading.
To ensure guests are comfortable at all times, even on the hottest days, the dining-living area has air conditioning, the cooling effect of which extends through the whole of the downstairs if needed. There are also plenty of windows that can be opened, plus French doors to the patio, and a lantern ceiling window that can be opened.
The Snug:
Part of the original 1920s house, the Snug, overlooking the front garden, has the original wood floor and is sumptuously furnished with a harlequin leather sofa and armchair, reading lamps and an inset feature wood burner with a beautiful mirror above. The warm cerise walls and beautiful rug create an inviting, cosy space to retreat to for a quiet read or to watch a film on the large smart TV with Blu-ray player.
Head through the door out of the Snug into the front hallway with cloakroom and stairs up to the bedrooms and a Nest heating control panel beside the cloakroom door.
Cloakroom:
The downstairs cloakroom harks back to the Edwardian era when Hyde Tyning was built, with beautiful tiles and blue-grey walls, plus a WC, hand basin, and heated towel rail.
Carpeted stairs with a banister lead from the hallway and front door up to the three double bedrooms (one en-suite) and the family shower room. All bedrooms feature a thick pile carpet, and each has two robes, slippers and bottled water:
Bedroom One:
The beautifully decorated and furnished master en-suite bedroom features a king-size double bed with bedside tables and reading lights, an antique chest of drawers that converts to a pretty desk and a small smart TV. The heated, built-in double wardrobe features padded clothes hangers, a safe, and a hairdryer/straighteners. This dual aspect room has views over the front garden and the surrounding countryside.
En-suite:
The en-suite has a full-size, claw-foot bath with an over-bath shower with both overhead and hand-held showerheads and a handy little door to turn off the bath taps without reaching right around the shower door! Also featuring an anti-steam mirror, WC, vanity unit, and heated towel rail.
Bedroom Two:
This handsomely decorated double room overlooks the garden and woodland to the rear and is furnished with a standard double bed, smart TV, long ornate mirror, and a bedside table with a reading lamp. A freestanding wardrobe houses padded clothes hangers, a fluffy throw, and a hairdryer/straighteners.
Bedroom Three:
With its delightful primrose-yellow walls, the smallest bedroom overlooks the front garden and features two single beds, a small smart TV, a large ornate mirror, a free-standing wardrobe with padded clothes hangers, and a fluffy throw.
Family Shower Room:
Featuring a walk-in shower, with an overhead and hand-held shower head, beautifully polished limestone tiling, a large washbasin with an anti-steam mirror, a WC, and a heated towel rail.

A lovely holiday cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at Hyde Tyning Cottage. It was very well appointed, very clean and very comfortable. The location was great - tucked away at the end of a lane with lovely countryside views. We would definitely stay there again.

Comfortable house

We booked this house as it was fairly close to Highgrove for which we had booked a visit. Unfortunately the weather was not great so we were unable to walk in the surrounding area. The house is comfortable, spacious downstairs but rather cosy upstairs (not a lot of room).
Unfortunately the freezer had broken which was inconvenient. A new one had been ordered
There was also some confusion as to who the contact person was.
We enjoyed our short stay and especially our visit to Highgrove.

Our stay at Hyde Tyning Cottage was a memorable one. My children and I enjoyed the peace and quiet and the beautiful view of the woods from the conservatory. The owners of the property and property managers were great. The cottage is very lovely and well-maintained. All equipment in the cottage is of the highest standard and thought was put into the littlest details.

Hyde Tyning

A fine place to stay in the Cotswolds. Beautiful location and the house is luxuriously fitted. Only points to note are the fact that bedroom 3 really is for kids not adults ( this is actually clear enough in the details) and that you may need to buy extra paper products ( toilet roll and paper towels) during your stay.

Wonderful weekend with friends in a lovely cottage

We had a wonderful weekend at Hyde Tyning cottage, it was the perfect place for a group of 5 friends to get together. The house was spotless and really well equipped. The provision of luxury handwash, lotion and shampoo, along with robes and slippers made it feel a real treat. The bedrooms are fairly compact but nicely finished and the downstairs area provides plenty of space for cooking, dining and sitting to talk. The British weather was on our side so we could enjoy the patio, which was a bonus.
It was great to be able to walk from the door on public footpaths, onto Minchinhampton common and also into the village for dinner. The cottage is also within easy drive of some lovely areas to explore, so it's a perfect location. The caretaker, Alan, was so helpful, especially when our food delivery arrived before we did! So we received a very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
All in all we had a wonderful stay here and would definitely come back in the future! Thank you!

Lovely house with wonderful garden

The house has been recently renovated to a very high standard. It is comfortable and extremely well appointed. The gardens and surrounding land provide a tranquil and relaxing space. We enjoyed cycling around the Cotswolds and there was plenty of space for secure bike storage. The local village is lovely with a fabulous tea room. We would definitely recommend staying at Hyde Tynings if coming to the Cotswolds.

Great location

Lovely house. Great space and well equipped kitchen downstairs, with excellent patio. Perfectly clean and pretty new equipment.
Very friendly, helpful and efficient team locally. Only problem was third bedroom is very small and really only suitable for children. Good walks from house, pub 10 minute walk.

A Stunning Cottage in Minchinhampton

We have just had 2 delightful days staying In Hyde Tynings for my daughters wedding , the cottage was so well stocked and everyone was so helpful and charming
Just one suggestion that some other form of heating in the new conservatory except air conditioning and a very small wood burner and as the room is a good size you cannot feel the heat so we were rather cold in that room and with the air con on it made a noise it would be better if there were radiators in that room as they are everywhere else .
We will be back
Thank you once again for letting us use your home

A truly relaxing stay in a beautiful and very well appointed family house

It is as though being invited to come and stay in someone else's loved, well appointed and well cared for home. It has a beautiful Cotswolds rural setting, with some horses and cows in fields beyond, as well as local farm fresh produce in a charming old market town only a short stroll away.
The two separate living areas and the spacious modern kitchen with its large separate entry and utility room were particularly appreciated. Everyone can come together, or stay apart to perhaps read or work, as they please.
The property ticks all the boxes. It's very clean with comfortable sofas and beds. The pot-belly fire places added extra comfort on cold November days. The condition of everything is excellent, as is the hospitality of the hosts. It was a relaxing stay away and we look forward to visiting again.

Lovely stay in Minchinhampton

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Minchinhampton with visits to Berkeley Castle, Westonbirt, Tetbury, and cycle rides around the countryside on several days. There were plenty of eating options in the area within easy reach. Everything was well appointed and thought out. Excellent kitchen and showers. It wasnt warm enough to use the BBQ on our visit but the rear views were lovely. Overall excellent self-catering accommodation.

Hyde Tyning Cottage, Minchinhampton

This was an unexpected short break after having to cancel holidays abroad due to Covid-19. We were delighted with the high spec. cottage - clean, well equipped, beautiful furniture and extremely comfortable. A warm welcome after our journey was a nice surprise. We took the family puppy with us and were very pleased to see that the garden was well fenced off. Minchinhampton Common was just a short distance away and ideal for family walks. The Old Lodge pub was very welcome at the end of our walks - nice garden and good food. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely property.
