This spacious holiday home overlooks open countryside and has a fabulous garden that backs onto the River Isbourne, with plenty of space to dine and relax outside. There’s lots of room to entertain all ages, including a large kitchen and breakfast room, a living room, and a superb conservatory with a dining area and a snooker table and the ground floor bedroom and wet room is equipped for disabled guests. Kingfisher has private, driveway parking for up to five cars – a luxury in this popular town. Sitting on the Cotswold Way and at the edge of Winchcombe, Kingfisher Cottage is in easy walking distance of all the town’s fabulous amenities, including Sudeley Castle & Gardens.
Overview
This handsome and well-proportioned 1900’s holiday home has a riverside setting with superb views. It is just 0.3 miles from the centre of Winchcombe and sits slightly back off the Winchcombe to Broadway Road behind a tall hedge that provides a cossetted and private setting. An immaculate driveway, planted with country cottage flowers and shrubs, provides parking for up to five cars. The 102-mile-long Cotswold Way passes the front door and guests can walk across the fields to Sudeley Castle & Gardens.
The owners of Kingfisher Cottage have created a very well-equipped holiday home with a spacious, interconnecting ground floor area that features a kitchen-breakfast room, a living room, and a large conservatory that’s both an elegant dining area and games room, with a full-size pool table. Kingfisher is ideal for disabled guests as it has a ground-floor twin bedroom with a Craftmatic electric bed and a fully accessible wet room. On the first floor are four very well appointed ensuite bedrooms, four with standard double beds and one twin.
Kingfisher Cottage has a wonderful garden. The owners love of gardening is immediately obvious as it is planted with a huge array of flowering annuals, perennials and bushes, as well as having mature trees, a delightful flower-covered pergola and a lovely expanse of lawn. Immediately outside the breakfast room and the conservatory is a long patio with a border full of flowering plants, and a wooden fence that backs onto the bank of the River Isbourne. Open fields lie beyond with the Cotswold countryside immediately accessible via a footpath to the side of the house. The patio has a beautiful, hand-built wooden table to seat 10 guests and two bistro tables with parasols. On the lawn are four sun loungers and a garden bench.
Ground Floor
The entire ground floor area features a beautiful, polished limestone floor with underfloor heating, rugs and has a pleasing and calming neutral palette of colours.
Entrance Hall:
At the front porch you’ll be greeted by a delightful, mosaic kingfisher, handmade by the owner, which sets the welcoming tone of this holiday cottage. Step through the front door, which is surrounded by beautiful flowering plants, into the long entrance hall. Here you will find a handy bench to perch on, while taking shoes and boots off, hooks to hang up coats, umbrellas and a bureau to put maps, keys, phones and hats on. An open area under the stairs provides space to store a wheelchair.
Living Room:
The light and bright living room is at the heart of the home and is decorated in an attractive palette of country-cream with pops of purple. It is furnished with three comfy sofas, an armchair and footstool and features a gas-fired, wood burner effect fire, a 37” smart TV, occasional tables, and stunning lamps made by the owners. French windows open to the conservatory with a view through to the garden.
Kitchen-Breakfast Room:
The lovely light and bright country house-style kitchen is superbly equipped for every self-catering chef’s need. The kitchen features a Rangemaster double oven and five-ring gas hob, double sink, a microwave, a full height fridge (a four-drawer freeze is in the utility room), and a long breakfast bar providing plenty of food prep space on one side and dining space with three bar stools to the far side. A tall, in-built dresser provides storage space for all the quality crockery, cutlery and serving plates, while glasses a plenty can be found in the cupboards to either side of the stove.
At the far end of the kitchen, with French doors opening to the patio and garden, is a four-to-six-seater dining table and a breakfast bar with three bar stools – the perfect space for casual breakfasts, quick snacks or to seat younger members of the group should they prefer to dine separately.
Utility Room:
Just off the kitchen is a handy utility room where you will find a four-drawer freezer, sink, washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board, cleaning equipment and a door that opens to the garden.
Conservatory Dining-Games Room:
Leading through from the living room on one side and the breakfast room to the other side is the conservatory, with its arching glass roof and fantastic countryside views. This fabulous room, with its 10-seater dining table, provides a wonderful dining space that’s airy and bright in the summer and cosy in the winter - thanks to the underfloor heating. Beside the dining table is a long sofa and table with a sound bar and a full-size pool table. French doors lead directly from the conservatory into the garden, blending indoor-outdoor living perfectly when the weather allows.
Bedroom One:
The ground floor bedroom is furnished with twin single beds with bedside tables and reading lamps, a chest of drawers, wardrobe and a dressing table with a triple mirror and stool. Unique, homemade patchwork headboards and floral prints bring the room to life and, thanks to its wide doorway and accessible wet room and toilet just down the hall, the bedroom is perfect for wheelchair users, older guests or those with mobility issues. One of the beds is a Craftmatic electric bed with electric control. (Please request electric bed controls, entrance ramp and any other mobility amenities on booking.)
Wet Room:
Located at the end of the hallway, making it available to all guests, including those with restricted mobility sleeping in Bedroom One, is a spacious wet room fitted with a walk-in shower, W.C. with handles, hand basin vanity unit with a light, shaver point and hooks for towels.
First Floor
A carpeted staircase with a bannister, and stairgate at the bottom, leads up to an s-shaped landing where there is a full-length mirror and a table under a skylight, which could be used as a desk. The landing and bedrooms all have beautiful wooden flooring.
Bedroom Two:
This fresh and bright dual-aspect double bedroom overlooks the front of the house and the garden and is furnished with a standard double bed with bedside tables and reading lamps. It has a walk-in wardrobe and a cupboard with shelves, a wall-mounted TV, a full-length mirror and a make-up mirror on the windowsill overlooking the garden.
Ensuite Shower Room:
The ensuite features a corner cubicle shower with a handset shower head, a WC, handbasin, a vanity unit with a light and shaver point, hooks for towels and a heated towel rail.
Bedroom Three:
This twin bedroom has a wonderful view over the garden, river and fields. It is furnished with two single beds, which share a central table and have a shelf to either side with individual reading lamps. There is a small smart TV, a wardrobe, an antique chest of drawers with a swing back mirror and a pretty, folding antique cane chair.
Please note that this room has a low ceiling to one side as you walk in and would not be suitable for tall guests.
Ensuite Shower Room:
The largest of the ensuites, with a great view over the countryside, features a corner cubicle shower with a handset shower head, a WC, handbasin, a heated towel rail and mirror beside the window seat.
Bedroom Four:
This delightful, cosy double bedroom overlooks the fields to the rear of Kingfisher Cottage and features a beautiful, hand sewn patchwork quilt across the standard double bed. The bed is set into an overbed unit, each side has a wardrobe with hanging rail plus shelves, with a handy drop-down shelf that you can place your morning cuppa on. The cupboards at the top offer more storage space, and there’s an overbed light. In addition, there is a wall-mounted smart TV, a beautiful, antique dressing table with a triple mirror and a Lloyd Loom chair.
Ensuite Shower Room:
The ensuite features a corner cubicle shower with a handset shower head, a WC, handbasin, a vanity unit with a light and shaver point and a heated towel rail.
Bedroom Five-Master:
This largest bedroom in the house overlooks the front of the cottage and features a standard double bed on a pretty, rosewood frame with bedside tables and reading lamps. In addition, there is walk-in wardrobe and a gorgeous hand turned chair and antique chest of drawers with a smart TV and make-up mirror.
Ensuite Bathroom:
The ensuite features a P-shaped bath with an over bath handset shower, a WC, handbasin with a light, shaving mirror and shaver point, a vanity unit and a heated towel rail.
Outside
Kingfisher Cottage’s private, enclosed garden is a dream for gardeners. It is a verdant, hedge-framed oasis filled with vibrant country flowers, lovingly nurtured by the owners. A large patio area, accessible via the cottage’s conservatory and kitchen, offers a great spot for al fresco dining with its long dining table seating ten, bistro tables and charcoal BBQ. The well-sized lawn area has four sun loungers and a pergola, making it great for kids wanting some space to play in or for grownups to relax after a long day out walking and exploring the Cotswolds. Running alongside the garden is the River Isbourne, a gentle stream accessible via a public footpath to the rear, which provides a soothing soundtrack of running water during al fresco summer dinners. What’s more, rolling fields as far as the eye can see offer a beautiful backdrop to the garden, making you feel well and truly in the heart of the country wherever you turn.

We recommend the Sudeley Castle Circular walk for a relaxing stroll, otherwise the Winchcombe Way is 42-miles, taking you on a stunning tour of the northern area of the Cotswolds.

Kingfisher Cottage is within easy walking distance of the charming village of Winchcombe, is convenient for the many local attractions and is located in its private garden near the river and footpaths. We understand that it was purpose built as a holiday let. The accommodation is good, the house is light, warm, well equipped and the owners were helpful.
The house is close to a fairly busy main road and morning traffic noise combined with that of the boiler kept one of our number awake but there are sufficient bedrooms to move to somewhere quieter, unless full to capacity.

This is the second time we have enjoyed staying at Kingfisher Cottage for an extended family get together (halfway between Yorkshire and Cornwall!) and cannot speak too highly of it.
The comfort and convenience of the property are second to none, the younger members enjoy the snooker table in the conservatory and the proximity to the stream. Lovely garden, and well equipped with outside furniture, bbq etc. The town is within close walking distance, as is Sudeley Castle, and the helpful owners are on hand should anything need attention.
The only slight downside can apparently be a miserable neighbour who complains about the slightest noise!

A Beautiful Retreat
We had an extended family weekend at Kingfisher Cottage which we found very homely and comfortable. Everything we needed was provided which was amazing considering we comprised a group aged 9 months to 90. We appreciated having different seating areas that accommodated our large party - sitting room, conservatory and patio, and the kitchen/breakfast room was an ideal social area too. We appreciated the beautifully crafted touches of home decor and the love that had been put into the cottage to make it so welcoming. Many thanks to the owners in making our stay so memorable.

A gorgeous location for a family gathering
A beautiful Cotswold stone cottage on the edge of Winchcombe and close to Sudeley Castle (our son's wedding venue). Good kitchen/dining/lounge space and the added benefit of a spacious conservatory with a pool table. The rooms were a good size even with a couple of low ceilings upstairs; having all upstairs rooms with en suite meant washing and changing for the various wedding events was so much easier.
The views from the lovely garden were really good, backing onto a small stream and fields suitable for nice walks.
Winchcombe itself is very quaint, typical of other towns in the area, with a couple of pubs and coffee spots to meet in for food or a quick cuppa.
We also appreciated the flexibility from the agent in allowing us to check in a couple of hours ahead of schedule.

We were a party of 8 adults and the house accommodated us very well. Location is excellent - you can walk to Winchcombe centre and to Sudley Castle. Diane, the owner, was very welcoming. The only minor observation was that the dining table chairs had lost their padding which made them uncomfortable to sit on
We took up Diane's suggestion of a meal at The Corner Cupboard Inn in the village which we all enjoyed..

A comfortable property in an excellent location
This very comfortable property was ideally suited for our extended family group, for our Christmas get together. The 3 spacious communal rooms were excellent, providing different relaxation opportunities for our party of varied ages ( 1 to 75 years ) & the pool table provided additional entertainment for the adults. The property is very well equipped, & was provided with a lovely Christmas tree & decorations.
The house & garden are well positioned & have a lovely outlook to the rear. The property is only 10 minutes walk from the town centre, with a wide range of amenities. Winchcombe is a great base for local walks & visits to other Cotswold attractions.
We particularly enjoyed our visit to the Spectacle of Light at Sudeley Castle.
We were impressed with the service provided by Bolthole Retreats, & the property owners son was very responsive when we had a minor problem with the heating system.

We stayed for a long weekend as a group of Friends - The cottage is beautiful, very well equipped , and very tastefully decorated - The real bonus is every Bedroom is en suite so everyone has space and privacy - The weather was very mixed during our stay but we did have a BBQ outside in the very lovely manicured garden which has ample comfortable garden furniture - The property has a lovely conservatory which if you can’t get outside you feel your still within the garden environment as the views are lovely - Really think the owners have thought of everything - Di and Dave (owners) are close by if you need anything or have any questions and very warm and welcoming - The village itself is lovely with everything within walking distance - Some great Pubs,Eateries,and some great independent shops - Have stayed in the Cotswolds many times including Cheltenham but it’s always Winchcombe for us - TIP: if you are there on a Sunday Morning - There is a Town Walk by a lovely lady Sue who meets at the tourist information centre - its well worth the time - She is so knowledgable and so interesting - Had a great time - Highly recommend! Kingfisher Cottage is truly wonderful. Plenty of room to spread out and excellent facilities. We really liked the fact that all the bedrooms upstairs had en suite facilities. We loved playing pool every evening. The house was immaculate. Everything you could possibly need and the owners were kind enough to leave us a box of chocolate biscuits. We would definately stay again. Everything was brilliant and just as described.

A great place with excellent facilities ideal for a relaxing stay in the Cotswolds
The property was ideal for a relaxing long weekend with friends and family. It is close to walks to Sudeley Castle and other places in the area as well as local pubs and shops.
The area is very quiet which makes it ideal for a place to relax.
The property was spotlessly clean and the facilities are excellent with a plentiful supply of everything you need such a towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner and all the pans & crockery you could desire if cooking a large meal along with plenty of tea towels.
The conservatory is a great size to sit in communally to eat, play board games, listen to music and play pool all whilst looking over the fields. Whilst we went in winter it would be great in summer as there is a good outdoor area.
All four upstairs bedrooms have en suite bathrooms which was a big plus. There is a large bathroom downstairs which is fully accessible so credit to the owners for making a property welcoming in that regard for visitors with those needs.
All in all I would fully recommend Kingfisher Cottage for a stay in the area.
I would note that this is a peaceful area so this is not suitable for a “party house” (shudder) so if you plan playing loud music with the doors open until the small hours this is not the place for you.

As a group of nine adults, Kingfisher Cottage suited our needs perfectly. It is ideally situated to walk the numerous trails and explore the picturesque villages in the Cotswolds.The living accommodation was welcoming and spacious, providing ample space for socialising. The kitchen, breakfast area and utility room were well equipped and also generously proportioned.
The owners were very helpful and quick to respond to queries.
It was a perfect location for friends to get together.

Amazing weekend with the family
The cottage is perfectly located in the centre of Winchcombe with the high street just minutes walk away.
The cottage is so pretty, and a great home from home to spend a cosy weekend away. The pool table provided a lot of fun for the family, and we spend most of our time in the dining area as it was a brilliant part of the cottage.
Would recommend to anyone, and we would 100% stay here again!

Fabulous stay
What a great house, very clean with fabulous facilities. An abundance of kitchen utensils, we wanted for nothing and cooked in for two of our days, eating at the fabulous dining table in the beautiful conservatory. Beds are very comfortable and the bedrooms are excellent with each one having it’s own bathroom/shower. Great location too, we went to Cheltenham on the local steam train £8 each and walked to Sudeley Castle on another day, eating out in Winchcombe at The Corner Cupboard. No complaints from anyone in our party, we all loved it and rated it 5*, thank you.

A lovely property for a family get together
A lovely house in a great location. All the bedrooms have en suites and the downstairs bedroom is great for those with less mobility. We spent plenty of time relaxing in the garden and there is a large outdoor table for al fresco dining. The house is a short walk from town and close to other attractions such as the Cotswold Farm Park and the GWSR heritage railway.

Kingfisher cottage had everything we needed as a family with ages ranging from 18 to 87. Especially welcome was the downstairs bedroom for disabled people with a special orthopedic bed. To be ideal it would have ensuite ,but the wet room at the end of the hall was close enough. The owners were very pleasant and helpful, Cooking and dining areas very spacious and well equipped,and the pool table kept the younger ones entertained.

A charming home base for the Cotswolds
Our family of 7 recently stayed at the Kingfisher Cottage in Winchcombe and had the best time. Renting through Bolthole Retreats was easy and they provided us with everything we needed to know to check in to our cottage and to enjoy the area. Kingfisher Cottage was immaculate and even better than described in the profile. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were all a good size. The kitchen is very well stocked and organized and there is a large laundry room. The owner had left us milk and tea and cookies to get us started! So thoughtful of her. The setting was so charming with the stunning flower gardens and the view from the back of the house. When at home we spent our time in the glass addition that included a large dining table for dinner and games, as well as a pool table and a view of the sky and fields beyond. The walking path just across the creek provided a direct route to Sudeley Castle as well as to other connecting walks. Walking to town for dinner and groceries was a snap, even with children in tow. I highly recommend both Bolthole Retreats and Kingfisher Cottage in particular.

Really comfortable house for large groups. Every room had it's own bathroom and very well insulated (couldn't hear people in the room next to yours).

Kingfisher Cottage is a great property located on the edge of Winchcombe so everything in the town is within easy walking distance. You can walk across a couple of fields at the back of the property along the river to Sudeley Castle.
The house was a great size with plenty of room for us all to gather in the conservatory & the garden. The pool table got plenty of use during our stay!!
We would all highly recommend Kingfisher Cottage & we have already talked about coming back.
In the town, I would recommend The White Hart and The Lion Inn. We used the Chinese takeaway twice, good food & large portions!!

Post Christmas family gathering
We just back from a lovely family break and great to all be together after the year we’ve had. Everything was just perfect and the owners put a lot of effort into decorating the house with Christmas decorations and making us welcome. The pool table was a big hit with the younger and older members of the family too. We managed a few walks and a visit to the Enchanted Light Festival at Cotswold Farm Park which was enjoyed by the family. We hopefully shall return another time.

A week in Winchcombe in the Cotswolds
Following 18 months since the start of the COVID pandemic our group of 9 decided that a week away together in a self catering cottage in the Cotswolds would be great. Kingfisher Cottage in Winchcombe did not disappoint. We spent the last week of September there and it proved to be an excellent choice being conveniently close to the town centre which had plenty of places to eat, drink and to see. The cottage was well maintained and provided three good size plus two smaller double rooms, all en-suite. There are also plenty of things to see and do in the area including Sudeley Castle and a vintage steam Railway.

5 Come Together
We are five friends who live far & wide across the country who came together after two long years at Kingfisher Cottage. The property is ideally set within walking distance of all amenities with plenty of places to eat of an evening along as you prebook. The owners have provided a wonderful “Bolthole” for a relaxing and comfortable stay whether it be for adults only or families of mixed ages. There is a lovely walk behind the cottage walking the footpath across the fields to Sudeley Castle where we spent a wonderful day with the sun shining. Winchcombe is ideally set for walks or short drives to places such as the beautiful Broadway and Bourton-on-the-Water.

Idyllic Kingfisher cottage with garden and beautiful views.
Just spent two days in Kingfisher cottage with friends. Absolutely perfect. All bedrooms with their own bathroom are always top of our list of priorities when we are looking for a stay away from home. 4 bedrooms upstairs with en-suites, one bedroom on ground floor with bathroom just along the hall.
Kitchen well equipped with crockery, cooking utensils, etc. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
Fantastic dining room in the conservatory, looking out onto the garden with rural views. Stunning.
We were able to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the very well looked after garden. Plenty of outdoor furniture.
Large lounge was big enough for all of us to have a comfy seat and watch the football and Wimbledon.
Plenty of off road parking for vehicles.
The owners Di and Dave were very welcoming and couldn’t have been more helpful. Thankyou. We will definitely be coming back.

This was a return visit to beautiful Kingfisher Cottage for my family (ages 4 to 70+) and we had a fantastic few days - just perfect. We were blessed with glorious weather and the garden really was like an outdoor living room 🙂 Kingfisher Cottage is spotlessly clean, comfortable and beautifully presented - it really feels like a home from home. We were very touched with the welcome little treats waiting for us on arrival too! The area is stunningly beautiful and great for walks, runs (for the more energetic...) and exploring. Winchcombe is a really lovely town and Kingfisher Cottage is very conveniently located - it's in a quiet location but is only a couple of minutes walk to shops and pubs. The owners are so welcoming and helpful and have lots of great tips for things to see and do. We love it so much we're already booked for our third visit next year. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely time at Kingfisher Cottage. The house was immaculately clean and Dave and Di have been very welcoming hosts. The house is in a perfect location to visit the village of Winchcombe, it is very spacious and equipped with all the necessary. Our family loved playing pool and relaxing in the spacious garden. Amazing weekend spent at the kingfisher cottage
We spent an amazing weekend at the kingfisher cottage just before the 2nd national lockdown. The cottage has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, very spacious with an amazing river view and a great variety of kitchen equipments for cooking and baking. Excellent location, very close to the town center and next to many walking tracks. Super friendly hosts, highly recommend this cottage!

Kingfisher cottage is a beautifully well kept cottage in the lovely town of winchcombe it has a tranquil garden with a beautiful view over the fields. Inside the cottage has everything you need and is very comfortable for a large family. lots of pubs shops and restaurants within walking distance and some lovely walks right from the front door. The pool table is perfect for some family fun, i would highly recommend kingfisher cottage to anyone.

Great stay in a lovely Cotswold village
Kingfisher cottage is a lovely place to stay in the heart of the Cotswolds. The cottage itself is in a lovely location with an idyllic stream passing by at the back.
It has everything you need for a comfortable stay and has multiple sleeping options for groups and family's etc.
The owners live next door and were available for any questions at any time via text message which was great.
The only things to improve were that the rooms got very warm at night and were difficult to sleep in (fans or thinner sheets perhaps). Plus the pool table was barely usable - not much space to use a cue correctly and was not level so balls don't run true. If I was them I would get rid of the pool table and get table football as a better use if the limited space! This is a minor issue of course 🙂

Wonderful get away
We had a lovely time at Kingfisher cottage and it is perfectly located to good walks and amenities. However the level of cleanliness was poor considering there is £150 COVID cleaning charge. There were cobwebs around the house that my 15 month old daughter kept finding and dead bugs in some bedrooms, the dining mats were encrusted with old food and some crockery in the cupboards needed cleaning. All this gave the impression that the house had not had a thorough clean before our arrival.
Although we were disappointed with the level of cleanliness, the accommodation suited us well for our visit and the garden was ideal for a bbq.
The garden is beautiful and well tended, we had lots of fun playing out there and the conservatory was perfect as a dining space.

A great place for all the family
We were a group aged between 53 and 88 and for all of us Kingfisher Cottage exceeded our expectations.
The cottage is very well equipped and furnished to a high standard. It has all been very thoughtfully designed and laid out, with great attention paid to detail e.g plenty of electric sockets, a hairdryer in each bedroom, lots of storage space, maps and walking route books provided. The downstairs bedroom and wet room suited my mother, while the comfortable, large lounge and conservatory provided plenty of space for dining and relaxing for all of us, and the kitchen had every utensil you could ever need.
We were blessed with wonderful weather so could enjoy the large, secluded, beautiful garden.
It was an easy walk into town for all of us and our best meal was at Wesley House.
We had great days out at Sudeley Castle, Hidcote Manor and riding the steam trains on the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire
Railway.A couple of us went on country walks to see Belas Knapp long barrow and on the Winchcombe and Gloucestershire Ways. All in all,we had a wonderful five days at Kingfisher Cottage and would highly recommend it to any family or other group of friends.

Great three weeks in the Cotswolds
We booked the "cottage" for three weeks as a family gathering place. We had my elderly parents down from Cheshire for the three weeks to spend time with my wife and I, our children and their children (their great grandchildren) visiting from Canada. My brother and his family and my sister also came to stay. The cottage with 5 bedrooms, 4 with ensuites was ideal for all the guests. We celebrated my parents 87th birthdays on a beautiful sunny day in the fabulous garden!!
The location of the cottage in the town of Winchcombe and within the Cotswolds was fabulous with many activities for us all to do.
Dave and Di are great hosts and were very accommodating for all our requests. They have set a high standard to match if we are ever to do this again somewhere!

Great holiday cottage in nice location with really nice helpful owners
This holiday cottage is very comfortable & it is good that all the upstairs rooms are en-suite. The kitchen is well equipped for those who are spending more time self-catering. When we noted there were not quite enough matching wine glasses for our in-house celebratory dinner, the owner very rapidly provided more.
My brother-in-law is wheel-chair bound & the ground floor accommodation was very accessible in all areas. He also found the size of the downstairs wet room & toilet good. There are good-quality grab rails by the toilet & in the shower. In the downstairs bedroom there was an electric bed which was ideal for him.
We met the owners during our stay & they were very friendly, approachable & anxious to know if the accommodation particularly catered for people who were confined to a wheelchair. They willingly took on board all suggestions made.
We were disappointed by the lack of communication of the property manager with the owners. It was fortunate the owners were not on holiday. Despite our having informed the property manager, before booking, about one person being in a wheelchair (& so requesting further information about the property, including photos of the downstairs wet room), she did not pass this information on to the owners. Consequently there was no ramp available to access the house when we arrived or control for the electric bed. Again, the owners were quick to address this when we rang them.
So VERY positive feedback for the cottage & their owners .......

Eight of us spent a long weekend at the cottage. Kitchen great and had everything you would need to cook a Christmas dinner. Had a problem with one of the toilets but it was dealt with straight away by the owners who live next door. The situation of the cottage was fantastic- walking distance to Winchcombe and some great walks. We will be back!!

A lovely riverside house in ideal Cotswold location
We are 7 friends, one with mobility issues, and this house met our needs perfectly. The downstairs bedroom and shower room were ideal for anyone less able. We appreciated the large conservatory and lounge, where we could all sit together. The house was very clean and well decorated, and the kitchen very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable, although couples might appreciate a king sized bed, rather than the small doubles.
We enjoyed the large garden with seating, and the position of the house. There is a footpath adjacent leading to Sudley castle, and we loved the walk there and our visit.
All in all, this was a very successful week, and a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Family Gathering To Celebrate 2018
The Cotswolds was our favoured location to gather our immediate family from Australia, New Zealand and USA to have a family get together to celebrate a number of significant birthdays in 2018. After much research we selected Kingfisher Cottage in Winchcombe as our primary accommodation and how good was that. It easily accommodated 10 adults and our 3 y.o. grandson.
The house presented exactly as described. It was clean, spacious, light and airy, with en-suites/bathrooms to all bedrooms, generous recreational areas and a beautiful and usable garden as well. It is well located to the various shops, restaurants and countryside - a car is really only necessary for trips further afield. All rooms were very functional. We did find a couple of the double beds "cosy" although that was was the way they were described. The only thing we felt could be added was basic toiletries but that was not an issue for us. We were thrilled that there were some basic condiments and washing machine powder in the house which we did not find elsewhere.
The owners Di and David, who lived next door, were extremely welcoming and helpful and in no way interfered with our enjoyment of their wonderful property. They were very responsive to our needs.
We had a 3 year old with us and to our surprise on arrival there was a range of toys ideal for his enjoyment - a real bonus.
Overall a great stay in the Cotswolds and Kingfisher Cottage in particular. We all had a great time.

A perfect base for a family get together
Kingfisher Cottage was the perfect base for our big family get together for a belated Christmas! A beautiful property providing a lovely home from home. Extremely well equipped with everything we needed and plenty of space for everyone.
The level access and downstairs bedroom were perfect for my disabled son who is a permanent wheelchair user. The owners were very helpful in making sure we had everything we needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
Good local walks and easy access into town where the businesses were very friendly and accommodating. A good selection of shops, pubs and eateries made this the perfect base for a holiday.
