Lovely cottage, brilliant location

Lovely old cottage, huge gardens. with lots of wildlife, including being serenaded at night by owls. Brilliant location, right opposite entrance to Sudeley castle. Ideal for visiting the beautiful Christmas illuminations.
Cottage photos need updating as the living room didn't have a carpet & the fire had been removed.Heating very warm downstairs & the hot water was very hot. Lovely kitchen well equipped.

Great location - disappointing cottage

Sudeley Guest Cottage is an attractive cottage on the edge of Winchcombe with shops, pubs, local museum and art gallery. It is also opposite the Sudeley estate with footpaths leading to wonderful local walks. The cottage could do with some TLC. The sitting room image is different to the reality with a large, heavy radiator placed across the open fireplace (the website stated the electric fire was no longer available) and the room no longer has a rug or the attractive cushions - this is not the lovely room it use to be when we stayed in 2018. Bedroom furniture is a hotch potch with the interior of one wardrobe having broken wood inside - which caught on my clothes, bedside light missing and the other had a broken lampshade, plus the attractive cushions have been removed. Great to have both an ensuite and large bathroom - but spoilt with mould in both showers and mould underneath and around the sink in the bathroom. The kitchen is the best room and where we often sat! The staff at Bolthole Retreats are great - efficent, helpful and friendly.

A picturesque retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sudeley Castle guest cottage with our family of two adults and two children. It provided ample space for the four of us to spread out, with two very nice bathrooms, a lovely tub, picturesque views from every window of the house, a lovely garden for the kids to explore, and an ample sized kitchen which made us feel right at home. It had everything I could think of to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We made good use of the Nespresso, dishwasher, and laundry (although the machine had an issue that we needed to get resolved, communication was good with the staff). My only comment would be that the mattress, at least in the master bedroom, felt old and a bit uncomfortable compared to other accommodations on our holiday. Could be that we are American and used to a more plush mattress type, but waking up a bit stiff was my only small complaint. We loved the apple tree in the backyard, how many pheasants and a nice peacock could be spotted across the property, and of course the proximity to Sudeley Castle and free entry was really nice. Would absolutely stay again.

Family wedding at Sudeley Castle

Perfect location for our family wedding held at Sudeley Castle or exploring the local area. Ample parking and nice grounds. Very quiet location, but easy walking distance into Winchcomb.

Beautiful cottage

The cottage is lovely! Exactly what we envisioned one in the English countryside to be. This was the perfect location! The small tea service left out was very welcoming and the kitchen was my favorite part of the house! We enjoyed sitting in the furniture outside so much. The lavender was beautiful. The cottage was clean overall, except it needing some serious dusting in certain spots. Also I would put a rug back in the living room. The only big issues we had were 1) the bathroom (the one that does not have a bathtub) smelled like urine. That was pretty bothersome for showering in there. 2) A/C was advertised in the listing for the house, but we never felt any cool air. It was quite hot sleeping at night. There should at least be some fans to use for that.
It was a really nice surprise to find a washer/dryer in the kitchen! It would be really helpful to put directions somewhere for it- its pretty confusing.

Sudeley Cottage - a delightful stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Sudeley Cottage. What a beautiful location and we even saw a pheasant, deer and hares in the garden. The house was cosy. It was a wee bit chilly but the room heaters helped warm up the bedrooms. I could have spent a week there! Thank you very much.

Nice cottage

It's a Nice house, with a lovely garden. At the back of the house you have an amazing view. Sudeley castle cross the streat!! The kitchen is cosy and well equiped, perfect wifi, the rooms are nice and spacious. But it all needs some very deep cleaning!!!! Also a new makeover in the house is necessary! A lot is wornout, broeken. Stains on the carpet, Dust en dirt under the tabel at the door. You can see that the cleaningteam probably does't get much time to clean it decent. Th treats you get at arrival don't make up for all of this unfortunally. Its a shame that this house isn' t taken care of inside and on the outside! Also a Lot of traffic al day long(and evening). No isolation inside so very noisy! Had to sleep with my earplugs. So for the Price we've paid, we are dissapointed.

Sudeley Guest Cottage is in an excellent location, directly across the road from Sudeley Castle and a few minutes drive from the lovely town of Winchcombe. It was very comfortable and very well provided. We were very lucky with the weather for our stay in late March and were able to enjoy the garden. The cottage is very well positioned for exploring the wider Cotswolds area, with many National Trust and English Heritage properties, the GWSR and comes with free entry to Sudeley Castle, which is fabulous. Our party of four adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return at a future date.

Delightful Cottage

Sudeley Guest Cottage is in an excellent location, directly across the road from Sudeley Castle and a few minutes drive from the lovely town of Winchcombe. Absolutely beautiful property

Sudeley guest cottage was just amazing. It was very comfortable and clean and a lovely little welcome package. We were so disappointed that our stay was cut short because of the Red Alert in Edinburgh and could only stay overnight. We had planned to stay 2 nights and explore the Cotswolds. If we are ever back we would definitely stay here and highly recommend the property

Absolutely lovely cottage with everything you could need. Really well-equipped kitchen with lots of treats for our arrival and great large bedrooms with really comfy beds. The cottage was very warm and snug - lovely for a winter break.

Excellent retreat but close for anythung

Excellent spot we have used for the 2nd year running as a base for the races. Comfy and spacious, and only a short walk up into the town if anything is needed. Will no doubt be looking to rebook again next year

Character cottage

The downstairs is quite small but the bedrooms are spacious. Well equipped kitchen. We didnt have any central heating but the head of security arrived promptly and supplied us with 6 radiators which we were very grateful for. It was lovely to see pheasants in the garden and a peacock. The cottage had lots of character but it didnt feel very homely. It was very disappointing that there was no log fire even though we were told there was which would have made a big difference I think. There was an electric fan heater log burner which was really very odd. The house was ok but not worth the price.

Beautiful Cottage perfectly located

We had a lovely stay at the cottage with our family of six from Germany. There are nice walks in the near and Suddely castle is close by. We really enjoyed the house and its location. The house has a beautiful kitchen, a comfortable living room and nice bedrooms.
The only problem for us was that we had several times no hot showers. We called and Matt came asap from the castle only to tell us that everything was fine but the next morning again: cold water.
Still we highly recommend the house and say thank you for our beautiful holidays.

Sudely castle wedding accommodation

Great location for a Sudeley castle wedding. Plenty of space for six people to share and everything you need.

Our favourite peaceful Cotswold hideaway close to Sudeley Castle.Great welcome tray.

We are returning guests and the cottage was chosen for its peaceful setting with close proximity to wildlife and the castle grounds so our autistic son could take wildlife photographs. The cottage is furnished in a shabby chic style which needs updating in places but has a beautifully fitted and equipped kitchen efficient showers and comfy beds. The wifi is very good enabling our journalist son to work from home there. We all had a great time spotting two types of deer and partridges plus unusual birds in the grounds and visiting Broadway tower for its fantastic views. It was great to be able to walk to the castle which is just across the road and the gardens there are beautiful.

A Special Place

Despite disappointing weather we had a wonderful time in a magical location. The house is very comfortable and well equipped . Endless walking routes nearby and a village that provides everything you need. Highly recommend the Lion Inn and the Winchcombe Indian restaurant .
Sudeley Castle is a bonus , together with the beautiful gardens.

Cosy, well-equipped cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Sudeley Guest Cottage. The property was very clean and well-equipped with comfy beds.
We made good use of our free entry to Sudeley Castle.
The only negative was the very overgrown and unkempt condition of the garden behind the cottage which I think belongs to another, unoccupied, property attached to the cottage.
Carolyn Tranfield
TLC needed

Adequate for our walking holiday . Cottage surround could do with TLC as well as some rooms , especially lounge, twin bedroom and bathrooms. Looks as if furniture brought in from a further house.
Twin bedroom like a cave which is fine if adequate twin bedside lights
we moved stuff about. Bathroom finishes around vanity units need improving

Description

Great stay in characterful cottage that was surprisingly spacious and very comfortable.
All mod cons - we enjoyed cooking family meals in the kitchen and listening to birdsong in mornings.
The road outside is a bit nearer than expected but it didnt hamper our enjoyment.
Sally Cookson
Hot water and electrical issues

Everything was great with our stay except for a couple of mornings we did not have hot water to start the day. We did not press any buttons but it seems something kept kicking off!
One of these system fails was the morning of our daughters wedding day. The power went out the evening before as we were preparing for bed.
The staff was quick to resolve the problems in the morning at 7 am but of course it takes a bit for the water heater to catch up. The Bride had to take an ice cold shower at 6 AM.
We actually called for help at 2 am to inform about this and hoped if they fixed it over night we would not have this situation on the Wedding day.
This power problem turned everything completely upside down. We had at least some light from the windows to start preparing for the day.
We had the hair and makeup people that showed up before 7 am and we had no power and all of us couldnt take our showers sadly.
We are loyal Bolthole customers and recommended our friends rent the 4 other cottages in the Sudeley village for the wedding. We also rented 2 other Bolthole cottages a few days after the wedding.
We do feel we need compensation for the inconvenience as this would have been unsatisfactory to happen once but twice and on such an important day is simply unacceptable.
Thank you for the opportunity to relay our concerns.

3 night break, six adults in Guest Cottage

Lovely, clean and comfortable accommodation. Good sized bedrooms, kitchen and living room. Felt spacious with 6 adults. Great location opposite the entrance to Sudeley Castle. A little bit further away from the town than other Sudeley Castle cottages - a 10-15 min walk as opposed to 5 mins. Lovely garden to sit out in.
Winchcombe offers everything you need from pubs and restaurants, to a well stocked small supermarket. Loads of walks from your door - no need to use a car.

Perfect Stay

Everything about the cottage was dreamy. I grew up in Winchcombe and my Mum still lives there but I needed a bigger place to house my friends for my birthday and we loved every minute of it. Stylish, cosy, clean and perfect for visiting the castle and going on walks.
Sam Prance
Comfortable house - great weekend away

The large cottage is perfect for a family group or group of friends. It's very comfortable and well equipped, very well located for visiting the castle and if you are mobile quite easy to walk through the castle grounds into Winchcome.
We had a great weekend and will certainly come back.

Short stay at Winchcombe

We all had a very enjoyable stay at Sudeley Guest Cottage. 5 of us celebrated a significant birthday and enjoyed spacious, clean accommodation with comfortable beds and all the things we needed A beautiful quiet setting on the estate and free access to the castle was a bonus An excellent service was provided when we had a problem with the electrics and this was resolved immediately A new barbecue and garden furniture enhanced the outdoor experience We would book this cottage again, or something similar, through Bolthole retreats who provided comprehensive information on the cottage and surrounding area prior to our stay A convenient location for Winchcombes lovely shops and restaurants

Great cottage in a fabulous location

Lovely Cotswold Cottage right opposite the entrance to Sudeley Castle.
Easy walk into Winchcombe, which has a number of bars and some very good restaurants.
Highly recommend.
It isn't quite "in the castle grounds", but you couldn't get closer.
Simon Lambert
Fantastic cottage right next to the castle

Sudley Guest Cottage is as beautiful as the pictures. Likely due to the weather the cottage needed a bit of airing but that was easily handled by opening the windows for a while. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms were clean and well appointed. We appreciated the easy entry with the lock box which makes arrivals so much easier than other companies that use key drop off/ pick up locations.
Alexander Dykes
Beautiful, quaint and authentic

I loved every minute of my stay at Sudeley Castle cottage.
The decor and beautiful little touches were fantastic and the homely ambience was much appreciated.
The surroundung countryside was like something from a picture postcard and just like I hoped it would be.
I would love to come back again.
Rosemary Mann
Charming and cozy

I loved the locationacross from Sudeley Castle entrance, from which we could enter the grounds and also walk to town on a quiet path. Kitchen was well equipped. We had trouble with the combo washer-dryer. Instructions would be helpful (we eventually found them on line). There was a smell of poorly vented plumbing upon first entering which dissipated after a bit. Overall I enjoyed our stay and would rent again.
Donna Bond
Easter Break

Excellent Property and Location - complimented by easy parking.
Only room for improvement would be to re-hinge the front Door and re-varnish the outside Table and Chairs.
- We enjoyed every minute of our stay and hope to return.

Beautiful cottage

This is the second consecutive year that we have stayed at Sudeley Guest Cottage for its proximity to Cheltenham and to attend the Cheltenham horse racing and on both occasions we were delighted with the amenities and the serenity, a beautiful place to relax. We would have liked to book again for 2024 but the proposed increase in rental of approximately £500 for the second year running forced us to make alternative arrangements, hugely disappointing.
You will obviously not publish this review for obvious reasons but I wished you to know the feelings of a regular customer

A lovely cottage in a wonderful part of the country

The property was a lovely period cottage with lovely features. The kitchen was large and spacious. The views around the property are gorgeous. Easy access to Sudeley Castle and Winchcombe.
The temperature whilst there dropped to -4C we managed to keep house comfortable for duration for young newborn.
If you are looking for accommodation that exceeds the norm then this is place to come.
Winchcome is place that has a great deal of history and worth a visit, suggest avoid taking car in as some roads are very narrow.
Michael Estall
A four day stay in the country

The house was well appointed, warm and welcoming. The only slight negative was the state of the stair carpet and a sticking front door,
Emily Green
Lovely character cottage with ample space but in need of maintenance

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage the first time as a family with grandparents but a few things could be improved on. The garden needs some attention - brambles, fallen rotten apples, broken flowerbed, dead lavender, weeds in the paving. Our one guest actually started pruning the rose bush around the front door as it was so neglected. The house is lovely but the windows were dirty and there were many cobwebs throughout. The kitchen is very well stocked and the bathrooms are modern and clean. We were under the impression that it came with a travel cot but on arrival it didn't have a mattress only a hard board bottom. We enquired with the management and were told they don't supply mattresses as they would have to replace them regularly. This should be made clear at booking because no one is going to travel with a baby mattress and would expect it to be included. despite these few issues it was centrally located and we loved being able to access the castle grounds.

Excellent holiday cottage

Our fourth stay in this delightful cottage and we noticed that the thistles had been cleared in the garden and the back garden was in a much better state than in July: we love this cottage and definitely hope to stay again. The kitchen is very well appointed too which helps for catering!
Emma Lawrence
A comfy cottage in a stunning position.

Our party of four adults loved our stay in this charming cool comfy welcoming cottage during very hot weather and cant wait for another visit. We enjoyed the fast Wi-Fi updated bathrooms and well equipped kitchen which were sparklingly clean and the furniture and bedding were extremely comfortable. Some of the flooring could benefit from updating in the near future and the family bathroom lock and blind still need replacing which means a less than perfect score but the location within a few hundred yards of the stunning Sudeley Castle and the wildlife rich garden surrounding the property means we would choose it for a return visit. We saw young woodpeckers digging in the lawn and a covey of thirteen pheasants foraging in the extensive garden plus many other species not spotted before and we took hundreds of photos. It was so quiet and peaceful.A very relaxing place to stay.
Lynn Burgess
A Winchcombe Weekend

We appreciated the home from home comfort of the house, the furniture and detail and the mostly comprehensive equipment. It well suited two couples and our two adult children and was ideal for the vintage car hillclimb at Prescott, ten minutes away. We found an excellent restaurant in the unspoiled town, at easy walking distance.
Very little on the down side; it would have been good to have had a downstairs loo, the sink was a bit small and a washing up bowl would have been useful and the bathroom door lock was broken. The garden was rather scruffy, with overgrown weeds and ragwort.
That said, we would definitely like to return.
Simon Coates
Excellent place to stay

Our third day in this delightful cottage and we will definitely be staying again. The location is perfect for us near to family, and the cottage is very comfortable and well appointed.
One point would be that a little work on the garden would have been appreciated as there are a lot of long nasty thistles growing in the back garden.
Otherwise the stay was perfect and the access to Sudeley Castle an added bonus.
Emma Lawrence
A peaceful comfortable house , good location

My husband, daughter and myself really enjoyed this peaceful, comfortable house. We were able to visit the beautiful castle and other places of interest

Lovely cottage

We all enjoyed our stay in Sudely Guest Cottage and wished we had booked for longer. The cottage was delightful and was exactly the traditional country cottage we were hoping for. It couldnt have been better located for visiting the castle and there were lovely walks we took right from our doorstep. Winchcombe was also charming.
Sharon Richenberg
Cozy and comfortable

Lovely shabby chic cottage with nice garden and view. Some of the furniture is getting towards the end of its life, but adds to the charm. We had a fuse blow twice which meant no hot water, but maintenance came immediately and fixed it. The walk to the village is a bit treacherous on a busy country Lane, but overall, we loved the cottage and would definitely stay again.
Darryl Jenkins
A super holiday stay location

Had an enjoyable long weekend with friends. A lovely homely and spacious cottage in a superb location. Fully equipped, with all you need for a great relaxed stay. All rooms decorated to a high standard. A stones throw from the castle and a great starting point for walks around the Cotswold. With both toilets being upstairs, this could be a slight disadvantage for a young family but not a real problem. Would definately come back and explore the area again.
Tracy Cobb
Perfect in every way

Generous welcome pack, extremely well equipped kitchen and very comfortable accommodation - all contributed to a perfect stay, which included unlimited access to Sudeley Castle and grounds.

Last minute Short break

Hi, overall the cottage was very nice, but personally I thought the living room let it down slightly. It was ok but not very welcoming or cosy. The kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms were all great though.
I was surprised to notice on arrival (in the rain) that there wasnt a door mat inside to wipe our feet on, as the carpeted stairs were right in front of you. Anyway, this didnt hamper our stay and we had a lovely time, but i would look to find a cosier place next time as I thought this property was quite expensive for what it was.
Sue Cooper
comments

The house was lovely and cosy and well equipped.
The only negative comments would be that the seating in the lounge is not very comfortable and needs upgrading to much better cushions. The windows were very dirty considering the high cleaning charge. A small non stick frying pan for eggs would be a useful addition.
Guest
A relaxing time

The guest house is semi isolated but so close to the entrance to Sudeley Castle where we took daily walks in the gardens and toured the castle. A perk of the stay was free entry to Sudeley at any time. Historic Winchcombe town was a gentle ten minute walk down the lane or a stroll through the grounds of the castle.
The cottage was one of the best equipped establishments we have stayed at, and the welcome pack was much appreciated on our arrival.
If you are looking for an old property with furnishings to match yet cater for modern needs giving you a cosy old world charm , then you will not be disappointed.
We have returned twice and look forward to returning next year.

A fantastic break in a very convenient position.

We had a wonderful time in Sudeley Guest Cottage. It was in an extremely convenient position -a few minutes walk to visit the castle and was very warm and cosy in the cold June weather. We found the WiFi was excellent and one of our party a journalist worked from there and watched Netflix in his spare time. The furnishings and curtains were typical for the age of the cottage, the bathrooms kitchen and showers were especially well appointed and the beds were comfortable. The views across the back garden were breathtaking. We love the castle and grounds which was as beautiful as ever and the exhibitions were carefully socially distanced. We spotted birds and wildlife new to us in the gardens there, had ice creams in the cafe, had brunch in Food Fanatics in Winchcombe and climbed Broadway Tower for a stunning view across a number of counties on our last day.We love Sudeley Castle. It is so peaceful and we found the gardens very relaxing after the last few worrying years.

This is a nice cottage which is well equipped. It is hard to find though and the garden needs weeding!

Weekend Away

A fantastic cottage to relax and enjoy on a nice sunny weekend. It is also linked to the beautiful Sudeley Castle and Winchcombe. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Cottage is atmospheric, beautiful location and well presented with everything you need !

Wonderful cottage, well stocked and decorated ,
However it could do with a bit of TLC and freshen up over the next year
As I know the excellent standard of the Sudeley cottages !!!
Dont let this detract though - its fantastic !!!!

A fantastic retreat

The cottage was a Cotswold stone early 19 /20 century delight.
Location to Sudeley Castle and the picturesque town of Whinchcomb excellent.
Sympathetically furnished in keeping with the older style of the cottage and very much feeling like a home.
Highly recommend this property .
We will certainly book again.

Lovely home from home

The house suited us perfectly and had everything we needed. Our only issue was with the twin beds which were incredibly uncomfortable and should be changed as soon as possible.

Superb cottage in an impressive location

This is a very well equipped, homely, cosy and spacious cottage which enables occupants to have free access to the nearby impressive Sudeley Castle and its fine gardens when open to the general public.
It was ideal for my Wife and I in the double bedroom room with the en suite, our Son and his Wife in the other double bedroom, and our two teenage grand children in the twin bedded room who shared the large bathroom with their parents. Both the en suite and bathroom have excellent large showers with plentiful hot water. The bathroom also has a large bath.
From the road opposite the locked Castle Gatehouse, there is an upward drive towards the side of the cottage where there is much parking space close to the front door. Entry to the Castle grounds is nearby.
Many thanks to Lady Ashcombe and her excellent Staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Birthday weekend at Sudeley

Beautiful cottage, we didnt want to leave. Will be back! Not very often you can comfortably fit x6 adults in a house and still have space. Beyond cosy in the winter.

Lovely cottage in a good area

Sudeley Castle is a couple of mins walk and entrance was included with the price of the cottage. The castle is fantastic. Surrounding area is good with access to Cheltenham, Broadway, Bourton-on-Water, Stow-on-the-wold all worth visiting.
Cottage itself was clean and comfortable although would have preferred a better sofa. Has a Blu-ray player but no disks provided as far as I could see. En-suite from bedroom has two steps down into it which could be hazardous at night.
Milk and provisions when we arrived was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Local shops are more drivable than walkable if doing shopping. We ordered online delivery from Sainsburys which worked out very well. Would have been nice to have a downstairs toilet. Front gate could do with repairing but i suspect most people walk from the car parking area.

Guest Cottage

This cottage was ideally located for access to Sudeley Castle and the surrounding area. It was very spacious and very well equipped. The extensive garden was ideal for our 4 young grandchildren. My only criticism would be that 10am was a bit of a challenge to vacate the property in the last day

Extraordinary & ordinary

This home is in an amazing location with a delightful exterior. On the inside it is homely and spacious without being special. We enjoyed our stay here, thoroughly enjoyed the Cotswold's and made the most of free entry to the castle. The kitchen has everything you could need and more and the bathrooms are a good size and clean. I didn't find the bed comfortable and the curtains didn't keep out enough light for the kids to sleep past the 4:30am sunrise. That said I'd stay here again if the opportunity arose.

Great Place for visiting Cotswolds

The property was as advertised, quaint, comfortable and well appointed. Visiting the castle and grounds for free was a bonus. The history, architecture, peacocks and gardens were amazing. Cannot wait to visit again in September

An excellent, relaxing stay

Cottage was beautiful. Well very and clean. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable - the front room furniture no so great though for a family.
Garden was fabulous and the location is also excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Fine!

A DVD player would have been great in the property. Furthermore a big cooking pot for a property up to 6 would be appropriate; as well as a second pan. Nevertheless its a great house to enjoy the country life.

Beautiful Cottage in Great Location

This is a delightful cottage in a great rural location, with wonderful walking and heritage on the doorstep with the delightful Winchcombe with places to eat and shop. The cottage is well presented, comfortable and stylishly decorated and furnished. Minor irritation - a number of light bulbs had blown and not the correct spare bulbs provided, and that we didn't have adequate cups and sauces, or appropriate cooking trays for the oven or serving dishes - needed if you are staying more than a few nights. Otherwise would highly recommend.

Sudeley guest cottage

This is a lovely property but we would have liked the use of a DVD player and also a radio in the kitchen.

Wonderful Family break

The family had a wonderful stay - it made an ideal base to explore and was suitable from 3 - 74 year olds. We hope to be back soon

A Fairytale Cottage!

We loved our week at the Sudeley Guest Cottage! It is in such a gorgeous location and the cottage itself is wonderfully decorated and maintained. Our only complaint was that we found the mattresses a bit hard but some people probably like them that way. Overall, it was a week spent in a truly beautiful place!

Our busy to Sudeley Castle to catch up on some family history

We enjoyed our visit to the Castle on our first day and ventured further out on the following days. The location is excellent to see the sights around the area. The cottage is well presented in a quite location but within easy reach of anything you could wish for.. we would recommend this to any family as a fabulous place to stay

a beautiful cottage in a beautiful place.

We had a nice stay at Sudeley. It was nice to be able to walk to the Castle. The cottage was adorable and the location
picturesque. It's a bit remote to try with no car. Luckily, my friends had one and came to our rescue. It would be great if there was a person on call that could answer some questions or help with means of transportation into town, or helping find a cycle hire, etc...
It might also be an idea to offer a grocery service for guests at an extra charge of course. I would definitely go back. Probably a bit
better prepared.

June at Sudeley Castle Guest Cottage

We had a lovely two night stay at Sudeley Castle Cottage at the beginning of June. The cottage was very quaint and homey and we enjoyed the quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Our only wish is that we could have had more time on the Castle grounds. Sudeley is so beautiful and it would be nice for guests staying on property to have additional access to the grounds. Since it doesnt open until ten with last entry at 4 it was difficult to get in time at the castle along with our other sightseeing in the Cotswolds. The grounds are so lovely and it would have been nice to have enjoyed them earlier in the morning or later in the evening.

Sudeley guest cottage

If you are after the quaint cottage experience then the cottages at Sudeley castle are perfect.
We had the odd issue (booking/ heating broke during stay) but the staff were on hand and did all the could to fix it.
Upon closer inspection the fixture in the cottage were a bit worn and the furnishing could do with a more frequent spring clean. We arrived to a note from the visitors before us pointing out that there were maintenance issues with light bulbs out and broken chair but this had not been sorted by staff! Kitchen kettle was coated in limescale so we went and bought descaler it was that bad. Attention to detail for basics could be better.

Lovely winter weekend

A lovely, comfortable cottage, very well equipped with everything you could need. Arriving on a Friday afternoon in the midst of winter, it would have been nice if the heating could have been put on the day before - it was freezing! Great walks from the doorstep. The cottage is on its own and further away from Winchcombe than the other castle cottages - about 15 minutes walk. We would like to return when the castle is open.

We had a great family break

We went with some friends with children with a range of ages and had a great time. Very peaceful, comfortable and close to the village.

Fantastic location for those interested in history

Spent 2 nights here in mid-October. Cottage was perfect for the four of us and there was another large double bedroom that we didn't need to use. Comfy, cosy and warm cottage with everything we needed for a short stay. We pretty much lived in the splendid kitchen. Unfortunately we couldn't see the views from the cottage due to the low lying mist!! The castle is a 5 min walk away, across the road and into the exit from the car park. You can also drive there in 1 min if mobility is a problem. We spent all our time in the castle/in the cottage, but Winchcombe is only 5 mins away by car. Perfect place if you love history as you are so close to the wonderful castle.

Great location cottage next to castle

Beautiful cottage everything was high spec and luxurious. Had to ring the out of hours emergency people to tell us where the key safe was as difficult to find (we were looking at side door not front door which is adjacent to car parking space) but once inside had the most comfortable stay. Would highly recommend

Cotswolds retreat

The cottage was lovely with a pleasant back yard. Only the front door was usable and would have been much better with the use of the side/back entrance which was blocked off. This made it difficult to carry food and beverages to the back yard table.
In the middle of one night, the burglar alarm went off due to an electrical problem causing a loss of WIFI use the next morning and requiring assistance in the middle of the night to turn off the alarm. We could not raise the Roman shade in the upstairs bathroom making it basically unusable to open or to enjoy the views. My husband made a temporary fix to the shower arm in the upstairs shower as it was also broken upon our arrival. With these exceptions, we still had a fine stay and would recommend it.
